Very interesting tour but there was a definate lack of organisation on behalf of On The Go. The tour guide was first class and very knowledgeable. However, the local manager was disorganised and did nothing more than the basics, he did not make himself known in the hotel lobby for the inital induction meeting and then bluntly insisted we pay him a tip at the end of the tour even though he did nothing for us personally. Other members of our group felt the same as they mentioned how he had asked them also. On The Go stated that they do not offer the visit to Edfu Temple due to animal welfare concerns which we totaly agree with. However, they offer nothing to replace this visit. They could try harder. Although we contributed to a tipping kitty there were lots of other 'extras' charged which is inconvieniant to have to pay locally as in Egypt you can only draw 3000 Egyptian Pounds a day from a ATM so you are forever looking for a machine. We have just returned from the “Ramses Sunrise Festival-Jewel of the Nile” tour and couldn’t be happier we picked this tour company. We arrived in Cairo from Amman, Jordan having finished their “Passage to Petra” tour (Jordan is awesome and everything is planned so well). Met at the airport, through visa and customs and off to our hotel in Giza with a stop for photos of the Nile River. Views of the Pyramids from our room and our guide Mohamed was so informative and personable. Unfortunately because of the negative media about the region, we (my wife and I) were the only members of the tour. This did not deter Mohamed from showing us all the important points of interest. If only more people would turn off their TV’s and just come to Egypt. After our tour of the museum, “Kiro” from Cairo whisked us off to our overnight train to Luxor where we met up with one of the nicest and most informative guides we have met, Aamer. From now on whenever we see hieroglyphics we will think of Aamer. Luxor, Aswan and all the sights (including the 4 night cruise) passed quickly as we enjoyed the most memorable vacation of our lives. The sunrise festival was a sight to behold and made even more memorable by Aamer’s wonderful byplay of information and friendship. If you can find the time to go to Jordan or Egypt, do yourself a favor and book with this company. In Jordan ask for Ogla - absolutely great guide. In Egypt ask for Mohamed in Cairo and definitely Aamer in Luxor. These guides and your tour company made this our trip of a lifetime. What a fantastic adventure!!!Show more

We had a fabulous trip with On-the-Go! Egypt is such a beautiful place, we thoroughly enjoyed the sights and learning about the culture. Highlights for us were definitely the Nile cruise and Abu Simbel – loved it! The sleeper train was also quite an experience on its own!! A special thanks must go to Rene Barnard (Flight Centre, SA) for the pre-holiday preps; as well as our tour guide Alam, and our Cairo rep Tom. Alam and Tom were extremely accommodating and made our Egyptian experience even more memorable from the minute we landed in Egypt until we left (thanks Tom). Alam ensured that we visited and shopped at reputable places, and was readily available to advise us when we were in need. Thanks for this Alam, and also for making sure that our special meals were catered for and provided. We were really lucky to be a part of quite a diverse and fun-loving tour group. We made lots of new friends, who we will certainly be keeping in touch with! We would not hesitate to recommend this particular tour to friends and family, and we will surely make use of On-the-Go tours in the future!Show more

To whom it may concern. Recently my wife and I returned from an “on the go” tour of Egypt. This was booked by a local Flight Centre in conjunction with “on the go” staff in Brisbane. On arrival in Cairo we were met by your representative,Medo. From then on everything was taken care of – every minor detail was attended to by him,including assisting with our luggage. Nothing was any trouble to this man who was always cheerful regardless of the time, day or night. We then met Hany,our tour leader/guide. From day one till the end of the tour we were thoroughly impressed with his attention to detail and his vast knowledge of Egypt. We could see that he was passionate about Egypt and his enjoyment of his profession showed through. This was an incredible holiday for my wife and I. Everything was so professionally carried out by "On the Go" from our arrival at Cairo Airport, our first night's accommodation, and meeting our 6 other travelling companions. Then next morning meeting up with our Guide for the Tour, Saleeb who took us on a journey of discovery we would never have imagined. Saleeb made the tour an adventure from start to finish. We saw many wonderous sights, mixed with the Egyptian people where possible and the river cruise up the Nile to Aswan was one of the highlights of our trip. The structure of the tour allowed us rest and relaxation along the way and we never felt overwhelmed (other than the impressiveness of some of the temples, Abu Simbal in particular, the Spinx and pyramids of Giza)or pushed for time in any way. I would recommend this 10 day tour through Eypt to anyone and have done so since our return home. Now we are headed for another trip in September 2011 to Turkey with "On the Go" meeting up with our 2 Canadian friends whom we met on our trip through Egypt.Show more

Payment information
- For any tour departing before October 17th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after October 17th, 2026, a minimum payment of $400 is required to confirm your booking with On The Go Tours. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 70 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
