Pyramids to Petra - 15 days

This review is only for the over-all co…We took this tour in October of 2021 and added a few extras on each end. This tour involved operators in three different countries, Egypt, Jordan, and Turkey. This review is only for the over-all coordination and the Egypt portion. I will review the others separately.
My wife and I are used to traveling separately or with friends. But because of the region we were visiting and all the current travel uncertainties, we decided to use an operator and were glad we did. On the Go did a great job coordinating thing, which for this tour involved a whole lot of moving parts. They did everything they said they would do and things moved like clockwork. It made it much easier to sit back and just enjoy the experience. They did several things that were particularly helpful, not the least of which was collecting a tip kitty at the beginning of the tour. That eliminated all the potential confusion that comes with traveling in a country like Egypt in particular. We were very happy with their overall structure and operations.
We want to particular to thank our guide, Ramadan, who was simply terrific. He is a very knowledgeable and responsible person who went out of his way to make sure we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Sometimes you meet special people when you travel, the kind of people you wish you could continue to see as friends. Ramadan is one of those. We couldn't have asked for a better guide and should you be lucky enough to have him as your guide, you will consider yourself blessed. In truth, I don't think this was always easy for him, as the only other people in our small group seemed to be on their own agenda and weren't terribly respectful of his services. But he handled this very well, and continued to function both professionally and at a high level. On the Go should feel fortunate to have him as a resource.
This turned out to be a great way for us to see the highlights of Egypt and On the Go delivered exactly as promised.

1000 Views of Madagascar - 12 days
Over all it was a good trip but several of the hikes were not worth the effort. Did see lots of lemurs and flora. Nice to end the trip at the ocean! What a poverty ridden country!!

Very interesting tour but there was a definate lack of organisation on behalf of On The Go. The tour guide was first class and very knowledgeable.

However, the local manager was disorganised and did nothing more than the basics, he did not make himself known in the hotel lobby for the inital induction meeting and then bluntly insisted we pay him a tip at the end of the tour even though he did nothing for us personally. Other members of our group felt the same as they mentioned how he had asked them also.
On The Go stated that they do not offer the visit to Edfu Temple due to animal welfare concerns which we totaly agree with. However, they offer nothing to replace this visit. They could try harder.
Although we contributed to a tipping kitty there were lots of other 'extras' charged which is inconvieniant to have to pay locally as in Egypt you can only draw 3000 Egyptian Pounds a day from a ATM so you are forever looking for a machine. It would be better to include these extras as the intial cost as it is relatively good value.

I was only with her for 3 days as she said on first day she tried to contact me three times but I was in that room and when the phone rang it was so loud so it was not true. She was at the counter with the Australian girls when I booked in. Apart from that I gave her a tip on the last day at lunch as I couldn't eat what was there except the biscuits but that not her fault and I told her at lunch I was not going in the evening so she had plenty of time to cancel my part at the night booking but the next day she said she wanted 800 Rubles as she had booked for me. I cannot believe she could not get on the phone and cancel. She spent her time talking to the old English couple so does not know how to converse with a group. If it was not for the young Australians I would have had a miserable time. I was happy with the accommodation and group but she needs to sit with a group and discuss bookings etc. I have travelled the world and tours include explaining to her group that trains come every five minutes and to take your time looking around as you wont be back on this tour. As I was taking photos of the underground and she just stood with the others and a train came the English lady came to me and said "you made us miss the train" A walking tour should be more than her standing in one spot. I will not recommend your Tour again. The others may have enjoyed it but your guide was really a waste.
