Can we add the hike up to Huayna Picchu during the day we visit Machu Picchu?

Im sorry there is not time to add Huayna Picchu to this trip

My husband and I are interested in doing this trek. We have a daughter that will just be turning 4. She is a very good traveller and comfortable for long times and distances in a carrier. I was wondering if this would be allowed as she would not slow the group down.

The minimum age for the treks is 12 and we are not able to make any adjustments to that age.

Is camping gear included in the trip? The two hotels listed in the brochure, are those the ones included in the trip?

All other camping equipment for the trek is provided and included. Mules or alpacas will carry the gear, so you will only be responsible for carrying your daypack, containing what you require for the day. Each passenger is given a duffel bag by our local office, which can hold approximately 7 kg (15.5 lbs), including sleeping bags. The remainder of your luggage will be stored for you at the hotels in Cusco.

we are looking to do a hike and want to explore as much as we can. I love the idea of the Choquequirao and Machu Picchu but the Salkantay trail sounds like something we don't want to miss. We are all experienced hikers.

An awesome tour with awesome people. Victor was the best group guide I have ever had. He had constant enthusiasm and excitement to show us part of his country. He loved his job and it showed. He had so much knowledge about all the fauna and flora while also knowing everything about the Incas. Every question we asked was always answered. He communicated great, always wanted us to have the best experience and most importantly did not rush us in the trek, it was all done at our own pace while also giving us plenty of time at all the attractions, he never rushed us the entire trip. He had a great personality and it felt like we were travelling with a friend as there were that many laughs shared. When I return to Cusco one day, I will not use any other guide other than Victor, 100% recommended to anyone wanting to do a tour in Cusco. This was one of the best experiences I have had. The scenery, fauna and flora, the people, the challenge, camping under the stars away from all technology, the food and most importantly the guide Victor made this an experience I will never forget. Would also like to say that the porters and chef went above and beyond what anyone should do for others. Whenever we would carry our bag or go to help in any way they would stop us and do it themselves. The most important thing to them was to make our experience the best they could. Overall the trip was exciting and well planned, our guides were brilliant and very informative on the history of the area. Nick and Jonathan the tour guides made each one of us relaxed and ensured we were well cared for. The chefs and porters did an amazing job considering the conditions. The main complaint I have were the accommodations, we were in the main lobby in our first hotel so got no sleep due to noise from people coming and going, our second motel was the same. It would have been nicer for a quieter place.Show more

Having not too much expectation for this tour, it became a tour that exceeded all expectations. Even though it was such a tough hike, every moment was a wonderful experience. What made it an even more unbelievable experience was to have the superbly knowledgable and wise Leo as my tour guide for the 5 solid days. Experience was amazing. Just felt slightly misinformed about the Choquequirao trek specifically. We were under the impression it would be cool and chilly at night so we packed several layers. Then when we met with out guide, Leo, for our orientation he told us it was going to be hot for most of the hike. I suppose we could have bought a few more light layers that night before we left for the trek in the morning. But I packed a suitcase full of jackets and fleeces from home that I never used.Show more

  If we do the choquequirao to Machu Picchu express tour does the whole group do the same Machu Picchu circuit? And when would we know which circuit we would be doing? Also what time do we leave Machu Picchu ?

  Yes, the whole group does Machu Picchu. We will notify you which circuit is booked or the travellers will get informed when they arrive with the guide. The travellers are at Machu Picchu for about 1-2 hrs. The timing of the tour and the activities are determined by the group. There is no exact timing as it is all depending on the groups timing, how long they take to get done, travel times etc.
