    Our 18–35s tours are designed specifically for travellers within that age group who want to explore the world alongside others in a similar life stage. Many younger travellers have told us they prefer trips where they can connect with like-minded people, with a similar travel style, pace, and shared expectations—without it being a party-focused experience.
    
    By keeping the age range consistent, it helps create a stronger group dynamic, where travellers are more likely to bond, feel comfortable, and enjoy activities that are tailored to their interests and energy levels. It also ensures the experience matches what guests expect when they book this type of trip.
    
    That said, we absolutely believe travel is for everyone!! If you're outside this age range, there are plenty of similar tours available that are open to all ages, offering the same destinations and experiences. In fact, only a very small number of Intrepid Trips are these age-restricted 18-35s tours.
    
    I'd be happy to recommend an alternative that suits what you're looking for if you're interested!

  I am a 51 year old solo traveller that is interested in your Essential Scandinavia tour but see there is an age restriction. Do you allow exceptions or have an alternative for those outside that age range?

    This tour is age-restricted, as it is designed specifically for travellers aged 18–35. The restriction relates to the tour style and group dynamic, rather than fitness level, so unfortunately we're unable to make exceptions for this particular itinerary.
    However, we do offer several excellent alternative Scandinavia tours that are suitable for travellers outside this age range, including Classic Scandinavia, Complete Scandinavia, Scandinavia Explorer, and many more, all with a more flexible age profile.
    You're very welcome to explore these options on our website, and if you'd like any personalised recommendations based on your travel style, budget, or preferred pace, I'd be happy to assist.

  Can we please make an age exception for this tour? I am very fit and do not require any assistance. I have no medical conditions and am a perfectly healthy to do the tour.

    This trip is an age restricted itinerary for 18 - 35 year olds, please let us know how old you both will be at time of travel and we can take a look for you.

    I'm travelling with my 25 years old daughter and I'm 62. We already booked our flights and itinerary around this trip. Please make an exception for the age as I am very healthy. I do yoga, cardio and hit classes Monday to Friday and even go to the gym 3x a week. I have no restrictions or medical conditions.

    We are not able to make an acception for this itinerary. While you are very active these trips are designed for travelers who prefer to travel with other of the same age range, there are times were we are make an acception if the traveler will be turning 36 or 37 while on trip but we cannot make an acception for anyone over the age of 38.

  I am just wondering how firm the age group range is. I am interested in travel but I'm 37 and my travel buddy is 25. Is there any flexibility? I ask because of I've been on tours before where they definitely had people above the age range.

    Our tours are specifically designed for travelers aged 18-35 to ensure a like-minded group experience. However, there is some flexibility for travelers just outside this range. If you will be 37 at the start of the trip, we can accept your booking.
