  This was a superbly organised tour! The scenery was of course breathtaking (as we expected) but the hotels selected were also excellent. The guide we had was super knowledgeable and made the whole experience so valuable! As someone who had done Kokoda, Machu Picchu and Everest Base Camp, I would really rate this and highly recommend!Show more

  Flawless from start to finish. It was so nice to have transfers, lodging, meals...all taken care of in advance. All we had to do was hike. Our guide, Marta Re was outstanding, keeping the group happy and together, stopping when appropriate to give the history of the region and point out interesting sites, I can not recommend her any higher.   Fantastic tour in every way! Our lovely guide Chiara was exceptional. We were lucky with perfect weather for the whole trip which really set off the magnificent views and made the walking even more pleasurable. The hotel accommodation was superb for the most part, definitely much better than staying in refugios, and the meals were mostly great. The necessary bus transfers in Italy could be a bit chaotic, but nothing the company had any control over.Show more

  The Tour company, No Roads, out of Australia, made the trip more complicated than necessary, and at times, disappointing. There were 10 of us and the group members could t have been better! Everybody got along and I had a wonderful roommate whom I had never met before. The guide was also amazing- friendly, professional, credentialed and highly experienced. We always knew we were in good hands. This trip was a splurge for me as I generally arrange and do all myself traveling for months at a time. So it was frustrating when the arrangements were sloppy (a room with one small bed for 2 women who are”singles,”.Sub- par (2 couples had to share a bathroom), and lacking (one night dinner was lentil soup and bread, and a cold dessert that looked like left over pizza), inefficient (the tour used city buses for transportation and there was a bus strike and a cutback of the number of buses due to the season change) where we started on the trail over an hour later than planned. We were having rain and snow on different days so this was a safety issue as well. The buses were terribly crowded and several (4) of our group became ill from a stomach virus…. I felt bad for the guide who wasn’t in control of any of this because it reflected on him, although he remained professional. I sent an email complaining about the bus situation (because I felt I paid for transports) and the Liason for the company told me that it was an effort to protect the environement. Disingenuous since this Australian company had 8 people traveling 24 hours by air to get there. She also stated that she is going to contact the city to Courmeyer to fix the bus situation. Eye roll. The problem with things being so inconsistent was that we could all see that things could have been arranged better, but corners were clearly cut to save money at the expense of the quality of the tour. There was a consensus among every member that parts of the tour were below standards and that the expectation for the price point (about $4800 pp US) was not met. We all said we would not use this company again for any tour. At the end of the tour, where the other companies’ guides got to hand out TMB (Tour of Mont Blanc) T-shirts, we got nothing.   Hi Melissa, Thank you for taking the time to write this feedback. I'm very sorry that our tour and the on-ground arrangements did not meet your expectations but I'm grateful to hear that you felt well looked after and safe with our guide and enjoyed the company of your fellow travellers. Allow me to express my apologies again in regard to the night when a double room was arranged instead of the required twin room. This was clearly an operational error for which I take full responsibility and I'm very sorry for the confusion and frustration this might have caused. I'm glad, however, that the hotel was able to solve the situation immediately. Thank you for pointing out that the ensuite arrangements were not met one day. Our aim is to provide ensuite bathrooms for every room and I'm sorry to hear this has not been met in this case. At times due to capacity and besides the fact, that we are booking accommodation along the trail months in advance, our requests sometimes can not be met because these are all boutique-style accommodations. Certainly, this should have been communicated to us the operator beforehand and I will follow up with the hotel accordingly. Melissa, I'm sorry that you don't agree with our philosophy of reducing the impact on the environment. I hear your argument about our guests flying thousands of miles to participate in our trip, something we do not have a direct influence on. We do however reduce your carbon imprint caused by this through our carbon offset program we have in place for each trip. Sadly, at this point in time, that is the only tool available to us that has a small impact on the air travel footprint of our guests. However, as I mentioned earlier, along the Tour Du Mont Blanc, glaciers are threatened and roads are being closed in fear of a potential collapse of overhanging glaciers, like in Val Ferret. Here we are trying to reduce any avoidable footprints where we can. This is why we use public buses where in place, and arrange private transport where they are not. As mentioned earlier I shared your feedback in regard to the bus situation with the Tourism Board and the bus company in Courmayuer. They regret the impact of their decision to reduce buses in September without any in advance provided information and are taking our feedback into account for next year.  I regret that it is too late to change the outcome of your tour. If I had known beforehand I would have made the necessary arrangements to deal with the situation but unfortunately, we were as surprised as you were by the number of people and the reduced number of provided tourist buses on your trip. Certainly, the safety of our guests is one of our first obligations and we will take necessary steps if the situation in September 2025 has not improved. Unfortunately, we don't have an impact on the weather and I understand that good or bad weather partially makes the trip. In our FAQ section, we share information about weather patterns during the TMB season which states that in September weather can be unstable and hikers might encounter patches of snow along the trail. To prepare for this situation and ensure the safety of our guests and guides, unlike many other companies, we provide lightweight crampons to our guests. Melissa, I'm deeply sorry and disappointed that you did not enjoy traveling with us, however, I strongly reject the accusation of cutting corners to reduce operational costs. We believe that our trip, which we crafted intending to offer a conformable and interesting tour along this magnificent iconic trail and share our passion, is great value for money.  I admit however, that our trip might not be for everyone and, certainly, we can not ask all of our guests to honour and agree with our decision and accept the consequences to reduce our impact on the environment.
