The service by all the staff was fantastic, especially my guide Kay. He was punctual, polite and made sure I was safe and comfortable. Thank you so much. The rest of the staff at the lodge was just as helpful, making sure my tours were on time and that my meals were also on time and I had everything I needed. The hut was comfortable and clean. After being in unfenced camps in the national parks in the Masai Mara and the Serengeti, this had welcomed features like safety from wild animals. However I was unprepared for how hot the days are in Botswana and how cold it was at night. There was a fan, it was welcomed but even with it was still hot. The night was so cold, I didn't even want to get up to go to the toilet. I asked for a hot water bottle the next night and it was much better. The meals served was above my expectations. The desserts especially was very enjoyable. For me 3 day was just nice, not too long. I came only to see the Okavango Delta. Any longer would have been unbearable. I am glad I came and saw the delta and experienced the local culture.Show more

It is sad that our overall review is then rated on the weather conditions, which is something completely outside of our control. Botswana is known for being hot during the day, and sometimes cold at night (especially in winter time when you visited), so I do feel this was somewhat to be expected. We are, however, very glad that you had a great experience otherwise.

The Boteti Lodge, where we stayed was amazing. The accommodations were wonderful, as well as the meals provided. The ride to Moremi Game Reserve is over 3 hour each way, about half of it on unpacked roads that are really bumpy. I sat in the cab of our safari vehicle on the way there and back, but those up top were very cold, even with the sides down. I missed the sunset mojito ride due to a flight delay. I was able to make it up my last morning. You will see lots of birds and some hippos. It was enjoyable. Overall, I don’t think the experiences were worth the cost of the safari, plus you don’t really get into the Okavango.Show more

Hi Adam. Thank you for the review. We are sad that your experience was not that great. Please note that for the 3 Day tour, you had to choose the option of a Moremi Game Drive, OR a full day Mokoro safari on the Okavango Delta. You chose the former which would then minimise exposure to the Okavango Delta. Moremi is at the north-eastern past of the Delta, and depending on the water levels of the Delta at the time of year, getting right to the waterways is not always possible. Regarding the cold, it is winter unfortunately and we always advise to dress warmly during this time for game drives. The game drive vehicle is a standard build (as most companies) with canvas sides, and heat isolation is not the same as would be in a closed vehicle / minivan - but then again, a game drive vehicle is built for best viewing of animals and being open-sided.
