Can packages include a stay in the Igloo hotel? It can be for 1-2 nights just wish to experience it during my trip.

Since this is a structured 5-day program with pre-arranged countryside accommodations, we are unfortunately unable to replace the included hotels with an igloo stay during the tour. That said, you may add 1–2 nights in a glass igloo / specialty accommodation independently before or after the 5-day tour.

Regarding extra activities in Reykjavik, we recommend considering a city walk, enjoy the hot bath or booking a whale watching tour.

The latest time we can wait for you is 8.30. It takes around 1 hour for the airport shuttle bus to get to Reykjavik, without traffic; we strongly suggest you to take a taxi to Bus Hostel.

The hotels we use are 3 star hotels with private bathroom and breakfast included. You are allowed a small backpack on board and a 24 inch suitcase. If you have anything bigger than that, you are welcome to store it in our office while you are away on the tour. If you miss out on sights or activities during the tour, we always issue a partial refund. Luggage storage means that you store your extra luggage in our office while you are away. We will take good care of it.

The driver was calm and professional, which made the experience reassuring. While the trip was enjoyable, a few more Northern Lights hunting opportunities would have made it even more worthwhile. That said, Troll Expeditions is a very responsive, professional, and efficient company. The team was kind, supportive, and well-organized throughout the trip. The hotels were reasonable and perfectly fine for the purpose of the tour, though travelers should not expect very spacious rooms or full luxury amenities. One important tip for future travelers: bring winter outdoor anti‑slip crampons from your home country. They cost around $10 beforehand but can be as expensive as $100 locally. They are extremely helpful for walking on ice—we slipped more than a couple of times, and crampons would have made a big difference. Overall, I highly recommend this company for a safe, well-managed, and pleasant travel experience.Show more

  Also, just a note…we saw a lot of online reviews about a male tour guide who was seriously cranky and unpleasant. This is a very once-in-a-lifetime trip with my mother. If we do book can we be assured the guides are all pleasant and enthusiastic? This is a big must have for us.

  About Reynisfjara beach, some areas where guests previously walked are now unsafe or inaccessible, but there is currently no official news about a permanent closure. You will still be able to visit, though access to certain sections is restricted for safety. We prioritize providing friendly, enthusiastic guides to ensure a positive experience for all our guests.

  The 5-Day Tour is a combination of two tours: the 3-Day South Coast & Glacier Hike and the 2-Day Snæfellsnes tour. Depending on availability, we can check whether it is possible for you to take the Snæfellsnes tour during your first two days and then start the South Coast tour on the third day. This would allow you to be at Jökulsárlón on the fifth day. Please note that even if you start the 3-Day South Coast & Glacier Hike tour on the third day, the exact itinerary for those three days may still vary depending on weather conditions.

  The mother is not very fit, so the glacier hike might not be right for her (requiring crampons). Is there an alternative activity that she can be offered like a boat tour nearby? What have been the reviews on that part of the tour in terms of fitness?

  Or perhaps it might be better to book the snaefellsnes 2 day tour and then a 3-day tour that ends at the glacier area but includes a different activity to the difficult glacier hike with crampons? If so, let me know if you can suggest anything.

  If the mother prefers not to join the glacier hike, she is welcome to stay at the base area or visitor area while the group completes the activity. The glacier hike usually takes around 2.5–3 hours including the safety briefing and gearing up. Please note that if the mother decides not to join the glacier hike, a refund will not be possible as the activity is part of the tour itinerary.
