  1. Day 1

    Arusha

    You'll arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and get driven to your hotel in Arusha. Once you settle in, take some time to look out at Mount Meru from your room or the hotel grounds. Your guide will meet with you to go over what's coming during the next 8 days on safari. The rest of the day is yours to relax, walk around the hotel area, or just get comfortable before things get going.

  2. Day 2

    Tarangire National Park

    After breakfast, you'll head into Tarangire National Park for your first game drive. This area is known for its massive elephant population, and you'll see the distinctive baobab trees scattered across the open savannah. Throughout the day you can look for elephants, lions, leopards, and giraffes. By the river, animals gather to drink water, which gives you plenty of chances to photograph wildlife in natural settings.

    Tarangire to Serengeti

By afternoon you'll reach Central Serengeti and jump into your first game drive there. Your guide will help you search for the Big Five and other animals across the endless golden grasslands.

    Serengeti

    Start this morning while it's still dark and head out for a sunrise game drive across the Serengeti plains. You'll search for lions, cheetahs, wildebeest, and other species moving through the landscape. Later, you'll have a picnic lunch out in the field where your guide talks about how the ecosystem works, what animals do, and conservation work happening in the region.

You'll also visit hippo pools and stop at kopjes, which are rocky outcrops that offer unique photo opportunities.

You'll have a picnic lunch surrounded by the dramatic crater landscape, then begin your drive back toward Arusha in the afternoon.
