I am a college student from the United States. I will be doing research in Dar es Salaam for 5 weeks this summer, and am looking to travel afterwards by myself. I am looking for a tour starting the night of July 22nd or on July 23rd, until August 3rd. I will be finishing my research in Dar es Salaam on July 22nd, and am flying out of the Dar es Salaam airport on August 4th. With my flight, I have around 12 days to spend on my tour and I am hoping to spend some time exploring cultural things, but spend most of my time on a Safari (I am particularly interested in Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater) and some time in Zanzibar. I am also interested in potentially visiting Mt. Kilimanjaro. What would you recommend for itinerary based on my time availability? I am looking for a budget tour, and am also looking to join a group as I will be traveling alone. I was also wondering if there was any possibility to downgrade accommodations for this tour for lower prices?

If I could give 0, I would! Frank couldn't deliver what he promised- 7 days camping safari. He sold me like livestock to another company who put me with a freelancer, who doesn't get paid enough, on a 4 days safari with 5 other people. We were all from different companies and all incredibly stressed with the disorganized experience. Frank promised the additional 3-day experience would be a private tour, which actually turned out to be a 1-day excusion to Lake Maranyara and Arusha National Park. Their car broke down at Lake Marangara. Again, Frank kept the $3,000 I paid, even though the average price others paid for the 4-day experiences was $750, and didn't even give half of the money to the other company which did all the work. Don't book with Kiriwe! Frank is a CROOK!Show more

We had an absolutely amazing safari trip with Steppe Dogs Adventures! We went to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti, slept in tents with hyenas and buffaloes walking around in between the tents. It was such a fun and amazing experience! Joseph was the best guide we could’ve asked for! He has so much knowledge about the animals, trees and other things! I would recommend him highly! Emanuel also made amazing food the days we spent on safari. It was all in all an amazing trip!Show more

Can’t ask for a better guide and cook. Mosess is the best guide ever, very knowledgeable about local culture and animals. Very considerate and helpful. Always great smiles. He took us to a local market and we all tried a goat heart with local people. Best immersive experience ever. He also bought some sugar cane for us to try at the camp. Such a fun experience trying the sugar cane. Cook Immanuel is also the best cook. The food was always delicious and well prepared. And also he is very considerate. One guy from another company had some mix up with his cook, and he ended up with no food for one dinner. My chef willingly helped to give food to this guy as well. Very helpful and always doing good things. Loved this safari company so much. Definitely recommend:)Show more

Besides the animals, the best part was our driver and guide Arnold! He is such an awesome guy who was with us the whole time. It was like a little family the 7 days and we where do lucky to have him as a guide! Thanks for the great experience best days and especially a big thanks to Arnold for being so so motivated and interested in you job and in us in person! It was my first Safari and it was absolutely successful. In 7 days we visited Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. We saw a lot of animals (about 10 lions, a big group of elephants and pool of about 100 hippos and so on). Our guide Mosess was so motivated to find the best spots for us and it worked! In summary cause of Mosess this experience was made so unforgettable! And in the end of the days he spend the time with us to tell us a lot of things about Tanzania and everything else.
