  Well organised but, as expected in this packed itinerary, many hours spent in the bus. Border delays meant we sometimes arrived at hotels too late to take advantage of their facilities, eg swimming pools, gyms - a shame as the hotels chosen were of a good standard. The food included was very good when part of a buffet, awful when a menu, served at a specific time - sometimes very late - when we had to wait until all guests had arrived. The tours by local guides were very worthwhile and informative. The drivers were excellent, and the on-tour guides friendly and helpful.Show more

  The itinerary is packed, if things go astray to there is no time to recover. When a guide spends many hours resolving the is as issues of the few the rest have to miss out and stand about. Two days where messed up because of one incident, not the fault of the tour or guide to but meals where missed, and the tour left in a mess.Show more

  Very fast paced. Unfortunately, we arrived at some destinations at night, so sight seeing/picture taking was limited. All hotels, with the exception of the one in Greece, were very good. The one in Greece smelled very bad, had no shower head, I had to go down to the reception to request light bulbs. Bus was very comfortable, sights were wonderful. Rumi, the tour guide is amazing.   Good trip to get a feel for the region and an appreciation for the uniqueness of each of the nations you visit. Hotels were very good for the most part. Only one looked like a carryover from the bad old days. Breakfasts and dinners were typically quite good Places visited were very good. Dubrovnik was not to be missed. Mountain top monastery in Greece was truly spectacular. Albania was surprisingly modern in the city center of the capital Needed an additional day in Sarajevo. With the assassination, the Olympics and the siege of the 90's, there is too much history to only have a single day there. Biggest problem was the amount of time in transit on the bus compared to the time seeing the sights we drove to. Interesting concept in the way the company recombines groups at each point to customize the experience desired by each of the travelers. Does mean that you may be travelling with totally new companions and guides each couple of days. Our guide for most of the time was Victor. Relatively young and new to the business. Fluent in Bulgarian, Spanish and English. Struck a nice balance in furnishing information about the places we visited without being over-bearing with it. Had the ability to keep things organized and get what we needed at various points. Street smart and I'm sure will get better with his knowledge of the region as time goes on. I'd bet he'll be really good at this down the road.Show more

  We chose this tour as it had the most comprehensive coverage of the Balkans and were not disappointed. Incredible planning on the part of Europamundo given the modular nature of their tours. Logistically it was challenging due to the distances we had to travel everyday, but there were plenty of rest stops and the border crossings were managed well. We were only 4 English speakers on a full bus of Spanish speakers and were initially apprehensive, having read some of the reviews from English speakers who were on a majority Spanish speaking bus. It could easily have been a disaster but kudos to Europamundo for assigning to our small group one of their most capable English and Spanish speaking guides, Viktor Toshev. He went the extra mile every day to ensure that we were not treated as an afterthought (as some other reviewers have commented). He was organised, his commentary clear and thorough but succinct, and his energy and enthusiasm was infectious, making the sites come alive. Due to the level of care we were given, it often felt like we were on a private customised tour and not a big bus package tour. A good guide makes all the difference! Thanks Europamundo!Show more
