  Is it possible to have pick up and drop off from Kruger airport (MQP)?

    Unfortunately not - we are not able to pick up from that airport. If you fly into the region, the only airport we are able to pickup from is Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport, which is close to the lodge.

    Arriving from VFA to Hoedspruit there's two options, 14:00 - 15:40 or 10:30 - 12:15, could you advise which would be best for Sunday 4 October please? Then on Wednesday 7 October, there's flights at 13:25 and 14:10 to Cape Town from HDS airport. Please let me know if this works?

    For arrival I would say 10:30-12:15. It will give you some time to relax at the lodge before the afternoon's activities. For departure, 13.25 should be fine :)

    We will be able to visit the canyon and three rondawels before getting our flight from HDS?

    Unfortunately not - the stop at Three Rondawels is done as part of the shuttle back to Johannesburg.

    Rooms are only allocated just before the safari (as you can imagine, with safaris starting and ending 7 days a week, 365 days a year, it's quite the logistical task to efficiently allocated rooms to ensure maximal occupancy and everyone gets the bed configuration they want). But I can share general pics of the rooms and lodge so you can get an idea, hope this helps!

    Yes all chalets are en-suite and air conditioned, and you can let us know if you want a double bed or 2 single beds in yours :)

    While it is possible, it will be extremely difficult. Some things to keep in mind: - We don't have childcare facilities at the lodge - The transfer from Johannesburg to Kruger is long and you will be in the shuttle most of the day. - The full day game drive in Kruger can't be shortened to come back earlier - it's a very long day and will be very tough on a little one. If she's unsettled/upset during this drive it will negatively impact other guests on the drive too. I don't want to put you off, I just want to make you aware of the difficulties and challenges, especially as you are traveling by yourself so you won't have any assistance at all.

  I read that the tour ends at 5pm in Johannesburg. I was wondering if this really the latest and if sufficient time for e.g. traffic jams were included. My flight is leaving at 7pm and hence I would have little time for delays. Alternatively is there a possibility to leave earlier?

    This is the usual time we arrive back in JHB. Sometimes it is earlier. Unfortunately we cannot predict traffic jams or other unforeseen events but if you mention to the driver and the lodge staff that you have a flight at 7pm then he will do his utmost to get you to the airport as quickly as possible.

  If i wanted to do this trip for 5 people, but we have our own car to drive from J/B and back can you do this and will you reduce the price?

    We do have availability and there would be a reduction in price - R500 ZAR per person per way (ie R1000 per person both ways so R5000 in total)

  Could you let us know an estimated distance of the walk? Are there stops on the way? Is the path flat or has steep uphill downhills?

    It is not done at a strenuous pace and the area covered is quite flat so most guests do not have any problems. Guests who really don't feel comfortable with the bush walk can opt for a game drive instead during the same period.

  Is there anything that I could do to be able to see Blyde River Canyon? It is a part of the safari package and something I would really like to see during my time in South Africa. I would be willing to pay an additional fee if necessary.

    If it's absolutely not possible, I will probably still book this package. But I'm wondering if there would be a cost reduction to make up for the change in itinerary?

    The Blyde Canyon stop is only a 1 hour stop at the free-to-visit viewpoint, so doesn't really have a cost involved that can be deducted unfortunately. We do however absorb the additional cost of the third party shuttle.

    We allow for booking postponements to a future date of your choosing with no penalties or additional fees. This can be open ended if unsure of a new date straight away. TourRadar calls this "Credit for Future Tours" and the payment made is held by them until you are ready to book again. For outright cancellations there is a cancellation fee of 25%. We do have availability in August for the dates selected.

  Do you facilitate COVID testing so that we can get back home? The United States requires testing within 24-hours of boarding our flight and we would be flying home at 11:10pm from JHB the day our tour ends.

    Yes we can - there is a clinic in Hoedspruit that can do the tests - we can take guests there the day before the safari ends, so that you get your results emailed to you the following day, before your flight

    The problem with our timing is that our flight is at 11:10pm on the day our tour ends and the United States requires testing within 24-hours of flight boarding. Is it possible to get tested the last day of our tour and get our results back?

    Are you sure that the requirement is "within 24 hours" and not just "within 1 day of departure" which would mean that a test from the prior day would be acceptable? The clinic in Hoedspruit says they open at 8am which means we could try and get you there on your departure day, but we cannot guarantee your results would arrive in time for when you need them.

    You are correct, it is within 1-day. I misinterpreted that to mean 24-hours. The day before the tour ends will work. Thank you!
