    Rita

    Asked on April 18th, 2026

My wife and I are interested in your Amazing Central America tour. Can you clarify this comment? "There will be times when you have to walk with your luggage, and for this reason, we recommend packing light and using a backpack or something easy to carry." We would travel moderately light, but not with backpacks. When would we need to walk with luggage? I expect that when we use private transport, we will be dropped very near the hotels. For public transport, couldn't we use taxis, even if we were willing to pay for them ourselves? It is an important consideration for us, possibly enough for us to decide against the tour if no solution is possible.

    Tour Details
    Transport
    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten April 2026

You will need to be able to carry your own luggage, handle it at airports, take in/out of accommodation and perhaps even walk short distances.\u00a0

Also transport in Shared boat and Ferry are included and you will be required to carry your own luggage while boarding. Hence, we recommend you pack as lightly as possible.

Do you have any information about visa requirements? I had a quick look and it seems that if we are travelling on our Australian passports, visas are not required for any of the six countries that this tour visits. Do you know if that is correct?

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten April 2026

Yes, for Australian passport holders, no pre arranged visas are typically required for this itinerary, but entry is still subject to standard immigration checks and conditions.

    Price / Availability
    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten July 2022

When it comes to money matters on the trip, every traveller is a little different. For meals, we recommend between USD 25 to 50 per day. Breakfast might cost USD 5 to 10, lunch USD 5 to 15, and dinner USD 12 to 25. For additional activities, we suggest having access to an extra US$500 for emergencies or unexpected expenses.

    Nina

    Asked on August 1st, 2016

What visas are required for US citizen?

    Visa
    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten August 2016

Unfortunately we are unable to give visa advice due to the vast number of nationalities which our customers represent. Some nationalities can travel freely over borders, where others require advance permission to enter. There are also changes in requirements from time to time. We recommend checking your local embassy or consulate's website for the latest up to date information.
