Is transportation provided during the tour?

Yes, transportation is included as part of the tour package. This covers all transfers from and to the designated pickup points.

Do you have a tour starting on 7th September?

We don't have a departure that late, because we find it is too often that the weather turns a bit colder during the second week of September and onward, and often brings snow or generally unpleasant weather to the tour for a few days. Our last departure is August 31st, which we have never had a weather issue on!

Is the hiking on the tour just day hikes?

The tour consists of multiple day hikes with returns to a campground each evening. You will only need a day pack for these hikes.

How can I confirm the booking with the inclusion of a sleeping bag?

I had a blast! Mother nature threw rain, mosquitos and an aching hip my way, but all I have are fond memories of this adventure. Marge and Louie were well organized, keeping us informed of the itinerary and (mostly) on schedule while having the flexibility to adapt to unexpected things like a highway closure or the group wanting to go for beers after a day of rafting and adventure. The food was a great balance of healthy and comfort food meals - the bison burgers were a bonus. The hikes were amazing! I like how they made adjustments depending on the group's fitness level. The option to go rafting on the last day was a great addition to the adventure. I live close enough to the mountains I could do a lot of these hikes on a weekend trip, but I would definitely book again with Fresh Adventures just for the added experience they provided.Show more

I really enjoyed my hiking trip in the Canadian Rockies. Our guides Marianne and Catherine did a fantastic job with the execution of the trip. The food, getting us going in the morning and sticking to the plan allowed everyone to have a great time! I highly recommend this hiking itinerary. The only thing that I would address is the location of the camp sites. One camp site had a generator on 24 hours a day and another had a train track very close to our camp site and both sites kept me awake at night. Quite frankly my personal residence that sits in a urban area is MUCH more quiet than anything I experienced while camping.Show more

I had THE BEST time on this fresh adventures trip. It was 6 nights of camping, with 5 full days of hiking. We had a group of 12 with 2 guides and they were all the best people. We bonded straight away and worked together really well. Our guides Jafar and Morgan were absolutely awesome - they made everything so much fun and had endless enthusiasm. They were really mindful of people’s different abilities and just made all of our hikes incredible. They knew the best places to take us to, where there were fewer tourists and unbelievable views. They were both just so much fun to hang out with for the week. They also cooked us amazing meals and provided us with literally bottomless snacks. There were loads of options everyday for breakfast, including delicious pancakes one day. We were taken to some of the most stunning lunch spots you could imagine, and were fed with delicious charcuterie board lunches there! And every night our dinner was cooked from scratch, completely delicious and full of healthy veggies. They catered really well for everyone’s dietary requirements. Camping and hiking is just THE WAY to see the Rockies. We were so lucky to be fully immersed in the environment. I have never been much of a camper but I’m so glad I did it this way and Fresh Adventures made it really easy. The tents were huge and in good condition, and they gave us comfy sleeping mats. The campsites we stayed in had toilets and showers and the guides made sure we were really safe from any wildlife. That week was one of the best I’ve ever had.Show more

The guides were great and the trip was great but it was not the trip I signed up for. No hike first night because we ate at 11 pm. Never went to Peyto lake, did not horseback ride (because needed to be booked two weeks in advance and they tried to book the day before. Should have known that), no riding Jasper tram, no Emerald lake (although it was mentioned as an option), not radium hot springs although we did go to Banff Hot springs (I booked extra days in Banff so I could do Banff hot springs since I thought I was doing radium on tour). Pack list wasn’t accurate. Hiking boots should be recommended and the itinerary should be followed or give customers a heads up that it won’t be.Show more

Patricia, thanks so much for your review. We appreciate the kind words about the guides and food and the feedback about your tour itinerary. We have been working on updating our tour pages across all the platforms they are listed on as we've had to make some last minute revisions for this season with a variety of challenges left over from the pandemic. We no longer go as far as Jasper, because this added two big days of driving, which we now spend hiking and exploring. Jasper was too far a drive to include, and to be honest, Jasper has always been underwhelming for guests and recent Pine Beetle damage has left Jasper not looking so great. I am sorry to hear about the horseback riding. They are almost always able to bring on an additional guide and accommodate our groups. I understand they are facing staffing shortages at the moment and suspect that might have something to do with it. We are hoping this will be resolved soon. With some of the changes to the tour it would add a lot of driving to go to Radium Hot Springs, and we find that Banff Hot Springs fit in the tour better at this point. I am sorry that this wasn't communicated with you so you could have planned around that. We have always found that guests have a great experience on our tours with running shoes, or hiking boots if they feel it would help them. We've taken almost 2000 travelers on hiking tours around the Rockies and only had a handful of people mention that hiking boots should be required. While we do encourage it, we don't want people to feel they need to spend a bunch of money on boots to be able to come on the tour. That being said, we are re-wording our packing list for seasons to come and will be recommending hiking boots more strongly for those that may prefer them. Patricia, thanks for coming on the tour and I am glad that you really enjoyed the experience that you did have with us (from your email to us directly). I know Jafar and Manuel really enjoyed having you on the tour and we hope to see you back for another adventure in the future!

One of the best trips I've ever had! I wanted an experience that pushed me to be adventurous and one that was set within natural landscapes. Fresh Adventures fulfilled both. I not only was able to see some of the most breathtaking landscapes I have ever seen but also gained loads of information on places we went from our knowledgeable guide, Alex. All the while amazing meals kept us fueled along the way. The small size of the group allowed us to easily bond and be flexible which enriched the experience.
