Unfortunately any tours we do need to be in the other direction. We would be starting in Sicily on the 26/09 and finishing in Venice on the 17/10 2026

Please note, we do not offer a package which starts in Sicily and ends in Venice however, most of our packages either start in Rome and sometimes Venice.

Can you please clarify what information is given for the self-guided tour? My dad doesn't speak English, can we get the instructions in Spanish? Do you also provide public transport tickets to move around the main cities such as Florence or Rome?

We take care of everything for you regarding logistics such as airport transfers, hotel accommodations, train tickets and all the breakfasts. This is a freedom tour therefore, there are no excursions included with a tour guide. If you wish to book optional excursions, you can book these online or once you arrive at destination. Regarding transfers within the city, you can get recommendations from your hotel reception on how to use public transportation otherwise you can use their taxi service as well. However, while in Cinque Terre, we do provide you with a day pass for the trains to get from village to village if you wish.

Is there a guide in each city or do you have to book your own tours in each town. If there is a guide, are they more of a consultant to help you know what tours to book independently.

The Italy By Train is a freedom tour, with no tour guides or groups included, giving you the perfect opportunity to explore Italy at your own pace. For optional excursions, you can book these in advance online. Should you need assistance while at your destination, we will provide you with a document containing useful contact numbers, or you can also reach out to your hotel reception for help on excursions.

We are interested in doing a variation on your "Italy by Train" (Venice to Rome) itinerary and would like to know if you can organise it. We arrive in Venice on 10th May by cruise ship and wish to depart from Milan on 22nd May. We would like to include two (2) nights in San Gimignano before going to La Spezia. Then we would like to go to Milan (instead of Rome). Can you accommodate our request?

We do not custom make packages. What I would suggest is to book our Italy By Train package from May 10th (Venice) to May 20th (Rome). You can then make your own way from Rome to Milan while staying under your own arrangements until May 22nd. We would not be able to add nights in between for you to visit San Gimignano unfortunately, this would have to be arranged on your own either before or after our tour as we can not replace or remove anything from our packages.

What are the check-in and check-out times for the hotels?

Typically, hotel check-in is in the afternoon and check-out is around noon, but these times can vary slightly based on the hotel's policies.

What if the flight details change or we have new flight information?

Please provide any new or changed flight details so we can organize the transfers accordingly.

Is there any risks of trains getting cancelled in a flood situation? What is the alternative then? Do we have to do local city tours on our own? Or included in package?

Only in case of extreme adverse weather conditions would the trains have to be cancelled as this type of transportation is usually not much impacted by rains. Regarding tours, you have freedom to make your own schedule depending on your personal interests. Excursions will be available from the tour desk of your hotels. You may also book them online prior to departure.

I have been offered the opportunity to give a review several times before this. I wanted to wait until the trip was completely done. The staff from TourRadar were as helpful as they could be. Unfortunately, the trip was booked through WingBuddy and we were much less pleased with their service. Several of the hotels we were booked in were pretty horrible, even by European standards. Our hotel in Florence was practically right on the major railroad tracks and neither of us got any sleep because of the trams and trains. It would seem that WingBuddy would maybe consider reading reviews for the hotels they book for their travelers. The amount of fighting we had to do before the trip to get any information at all was ridiculous and having to pay extra for a hotel change ($500 USD) with no credit at all for what we had already paid for is 100% unacceptable. Because of our issues with Wingbuddy, we likely will not be using TourRadar again. If your partner agencies are this bad, we feel that we could do better by booking through other agencies.Show more
