Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Cairo

    You'll land at Cairo airport where the team meets you for visa help and arranges your hotel transfer. After checking in, the afternoon is open for your own plans. If you arrive early enough, consider heading to see the pyramids with a sound and light show, or taking a Nile dinner cruise instead.

  2. Day 2

    Cairo to Aswan

    Start by visiting the Great Pyramid of Khufu and the Sphinx at Giza, along with the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. You can go inside the pyramids if you want (though guides can't accompany you, and Great Pyramid tickets are limited). Then head to the Egyptian Museum with your Egyptologist guide to see the Tutankhamun exhibit. By evening, you'll fly to Aswan and transfer to your hotel overlooking the Nile.

  3. Day 3

    Aswan to Luxor

    This morning you can choose an early trip to Abu Simbel to catch sunrise at this UNESCO site, or take leisure time exploring Aswan's Corniche, markets, and the Nubian Museum. Later, board your Nile cruise for lunch while watching the river. The afternoon brings a boat trip to the Temple of Philae dedicated to Isis. There's also an optional camel ride through the desert to St. Simeon's monastery if you're interested.

    Spend the day sailing down the Nile, watching rural Egyptian life pass by along the water. Your first stop is the Kom Ombo Temple, a double sanctuary for the gods Sobek and Horus. Keep sailing to reach the Temple of Horus at Edfu, where you'll stay overnight on the cruise boat.

    Edfu to Luxor

    You'll tour the well-preserved Temple of Horus with its Coptic carvings and paintings. The cruise continues through the Esna Lock, which connects the river's upper and lower sections. As you approach Luxor, the ancient city of Thebes, you'll see it's packed with ancient ruins everywhere. End your day with a walking tour of the illuminated Luxor Temple in the evening.

    Luxor

    There's an optional hot air balloon flight at sunrise if you want aerial views of the West Bank. After that, cross the Nile for an early tour of the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatchepsut's temples, the Valley of the Artisans (Deir El-Medina), and the Colossi of Memnon. Grab lunch, then spend the afternoon exploring the massive Karnak Temple Complex with its sphinx-lined avenues and towering columns.

    Hurghada

    This day is yours to spend however you like in Hurghada. The clear waters and coral reefs are perfect for scuba diving and snorkeling. A local representative is available to help you plan whatever appeals to you most.

You'll enter through the Bab al-Futuh gateway and find intricate metalwork, fragrant spices, colorful pottery, and jewelry. Stop for mint tea and shisha, and pick up final souvenirs before the trip ends.
