  My husband & I just finished the 9 day Wonders of Egypt tour and it was amazing! It was jam packed every day with all the sights you came to Egypt to see. If you prefer a lot of downtime, this is not the tour for you. The trip to Abu Simbel Temples was a 3 hr trip each way and is exhausting but well worth it. This day was scheduled to be on our last day at Aswan but our tour guide (Islam) recognised that this would be difficult to do because we needed to fly back to Cairo on the same day, so he swapped this activity to the day before so that we could enjoy it. Islam's historical and local knowledge was second to none. His approach was very personal and made our whole experience feel like we were being shown around Egypt by a friend. Nothing was ever too hard for him. He went above and beyond most days to make us all feel comfortable & happy. He clearly loves his job. Our tour only had 11 people. I have been on bigger tours and after this, will only do the smaller groups from now on. Everything was well organised and accommodation and food was excellent! Watch your waistline!! :) The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. The workers of all hotels were friendly and eager to please. We felt safe during all aspects of our tour. Thank you, thank you, thank you Islam for helping make our trip of a lifetime one to remember.Show more

  Really enjoyed being in a small group instead of a traditional large group and our guide was great. This was a fast, hit-the-high points type of tour which is what we wanted; but, didn't really get to spend too much time at any one place. Didn't care for the hotel we were based out of - the rooms didn't have opaque walls between the bedroom and bathroom, just glass that was partly translucent; and, the hotel was a long ways away from everything.Show more

  Wonderful trip!! Food, accommodation and transportation were all excellent. Our tour leader Mostafa was amazing, so friendly, knowledgable and patient. He genuinely made sure we all had the best experience. We also had a really great and fun crew and really enjoy travelling with them. The tour itself was very organized and well-planned. Definitely recommend Ciconia if you’re planning a trip to Egypt, best experience I’ve had with any travel company so far!Show more

  Amazing experience. The ‘Best of Egypt’ tour was the experience of a lifetime. Our guide Mo Farid was brilliant, friendly and most informative. He made us feel safe and comfortable. So much would have meant nothing without Mo. His sense of humour, passion for his country and extensive knowledge made our trip very special. Thanks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! The communications with Ciconia were great and immediate. The airport transfers relatively smooth and anything that delayed or inconvenience us had more to do with the Tourism Police than with our driver. The tour itself is very intense with very little if any down time; late nights and early mornings are the norm. Be prepared for an exhausting trip. Having said that, obviously Ciconia has made sure that as many significant highlights are included and of course there are sooooo many!! I am sure complaint would be made if any of the sites and experiences were missing. Accommodation was good both at the Crowne Plaza and on the MS Tulip - the service exceptional. The hotel is quite some way from Downtown Cairo and the airport so be prepared to spend sometime in traffic. There appears to be better cruisers on the Nile but the Tulip was more than adequate. Frankly, I would have been happy to have more time relaxing by the pool on it. Highlights - everything?! 😄 Hard to top the Pyramids and Sphinx, the ballon ride nonetheless was up there. I highly recommend it. No complaints. The Best of Egypt was just perfect. Do not hesitate to book it.Show more

  The trip was fantastic, the group was great and the guide (Sam) was the best. In terms of hotels: I had bad experience at Hilton Resort (Luxor) because of an arrogant receptionist and bad (lack) dinning services. The first room I was offered was less than a cheap motel room with dusts on countertops, tables and bathroom, heavily stained carpet and broken & unfinished rags under bed tables, but I did get a clean room upon request. Crown Plaza (Cairo) and Movenpick Resort (Aswan) offered the great accommodation and services and I really enjoyed my stay. In terms of guides: the main tour guide Sam was the best I’ve ever had, very knowledgeable, professional, accommodating and kind. As I was the only person in the group choosing land option from Luxor to Aswan, I was assigned a driver and a female tour guide. Truly appreciate Ciconia paired me with a female tour guide and I did give her a generous tip to encourage her to continue, however she really needs more trainings on English and knowledge. She did not offer much explanation on either of the temples we visited. Overall I would strongly recommend Ciconia.Show more

  This was a great trip, including all the major sites in Upper as well as Lower Egypt (as far as Cairo). A huge advantage was the small group size (7 people) and our own wonderful guide. He was extremely knowledgeable, yet with a good sense of humor, always patient and considerate. As I am older (86) than the other members, I was given special care, including a wheelchair from the boat in particular locations, just to enable me to keep up with the others and not miss out on anything. Service everywhere was excellent, both on the boat and in the hotel, although the hotel's location made it necessary to travel across Cairo for longish periods through the traffic. Egyptians everywhere were friendly and helpful. Although the weather was hot, all activities were timed suitably, so it was not really a problem. Everybody in our group was healthy and very happy and we gelled together well.Show more
