I was wondering how much the upgrade of accommodation is and as a solo traveller would I have my own room/ tent?

We have availability on our 25th of Mar 2023 till 3rd of Apr 2023, priced at £1699.00 per person sharing on the camping option. The upgraded accommodated option also start on the 25th of Mar 2023 till 3rd of Apr 2023, priced at £1949.00 per person sharing. Plus a single supplement of £290.00 per person in a single room throughout the tour.

We're a family with 2 children 15 and 18 aged and are interested in Savannah&Sands safari but would like to not have shared ablutions. Is it possible? What is the total cost for our family?

The minimum age on these trips is 18 years, but we'd be happy to assist with your family including your 15-year-old. If you'd like to have accommodation with ensuite bathrooms, you would need to book the accommodated tour. The accommodated trip from the 29th of Jul 2023 to the 7th of Aug 2023 is priced at €2350.00 per person, 2 per room.

Can you please advise if you are able to offer an upgrade during the camping portions of this trip?

The Savannahs and Sands tour is an accommodated tour. Only the Activity Package, which is an optional part, is a 4-day Serengeti Camping experience. No upgrades are available. If travellers don't book this, they will remain behind at the accommodations in Arusha with one of the crew members. Optional day tours are bookable.

Is the a pre/post accommodation needed on this tour?

You will need to spend at least one night pre-tour in Nairobi and one night post-tour in Dar Es Salaam to join and depart from the tour. This can be booked independently or through our services. Please contact us.

If one person will be travelling, the single supplement will apply.

This is an accommodated overland tour, however Serengeti and Ngorongoro Excursion will make use of camping facilities. Accommodation used on this tour is likely: Ndoro Lodge Bagamoyo Travellers Lodge Ocean View Hotel Zanzibar Excursion Amaan Bungalows Serengeti and Ngorongoro Excursion Bush Camp: Seronera Campsite. All accommodations are subject to change until 4-6 weeks before the departure date. After the booking is made you will be issued your final trip documents with your specific accommodation details 4-6 weeks before departure. My husband and I went on this trip to see the Serengeti in Tanzania, as well as the rich history of Zanzibar. Encounters partners with Nomad Travels for the local connections and we found them to be very professional & well organized. Each step of the way we had excellent guides and decent accommodations. [ The only real exception was for our final night in Dar Es Salaam, where the hotel had run down in its care. That location should definitely be changed for future trips. It was also not in a good part of town where we could leave the premises easily.] Overall, it was an exceptional trip--the wildlife we saw was breathtaking, the Tanzanian people were so kind, and the beaches of Zanzibar sparkled. We definitely would recommend this trip to others. Show more

I’m sorry that your final night in Dar es Salam wasn’t up to scratch, this certainly isn’t the kind of feedback that we like to receive from our clients and we’ll definitely be looking at this property again before using it for future travellers. Since you booked we’ve actually changed the way in which we sell this trip and actually no longer include the pre or post-tour nights in Nairobi and Dar es Salam, this does give our clients more flexibility in choosing their own preferred accommodations for these nights, so this should eliminate these types of issues in future.
