I know we spent a lot of time on the road travelling but we saw a ton of stuff. Morocco is a very beautiful country. Everything on the tour was extremely well planned out. Our accommodations were sometimes modest but that gives you a feel for the people and culture. I found the food and rest stops were well planned out, and if you needed an extra bathroom break, no problem. Our guide and driver were very experienced and knowledgeable. Overall I was extremely pleased with everything on our trip.

The vehicle arrangement was wholly inadequate for the size of our group. The car provided offered neither sufficient space nor comfort for the long distances covered during the tour. A journey of this length and nature requires proper planning and an appropriately sized vehicle, which should be considered a basic expectation, not an optional upgrade. When concerns were raised, the proposed remedy involved an additional charge that felt unreasonable and should have been unnecessary had proper arrangements been made from the outset. Equally concerning was the overall quality of guidance. The principal guide showed limited engagement and provided minimal information or context about the places visited. As a result, large portions of the tour lacked the educational and cultural value that participants rightly expect from a professionally guided experience. The few positive aspects were the local guides encountered at certain destinations. They were knowledgeable, articulate, and clearly invested in sharing their expertise. Their professionalism underscored the significant contrast between their performance and the rest of the tour’s organization. Overall, the experience did not meet the level of comfort, service, or professionalism reasonably anticipated from a company with such strong reviews. It fell short of delivering value commensurate with its reputation or cost.

I am genuinely surprised by how high the ratings for this tour company are. Those ratings may reflect other tours or destinations, but they do not reflect my experience on the 9-day Morocco tour. First, the vehicle arrangement was completely unacceptable. There were six people in our group, yet the company provided a Fiat SUV instead of a minivan. Access to the back seats required passengers to crawl in, and two people had to sit in the middle seat. This was a nearly 2,000-mile road trip on uneven roads, and the vehicle was clearly not suitable for such long-distance travel. We were then offered a so-called solution: a 17-seater minivan for an additional €120 per person. This was unreasonable. Six people do not need a 17-seat vehicle. A 6- or 8-seater minivan would have been appropriate from the start. Providing an unsuitable vehicle and then charging extra to fix the problem is not acceptable. As for the main guide, Imad, his role was extremely disappointing. He offered very little guidance or explanation throughout the tour and spent much of the time watching football, talking on the phone, or sleeping in the car. His lack of engagement significantly reduced the quality of the experience. He did not function as a professional tour guide. The only positive aspect of the tour was the local guides in Marrakech (Ahmed) and Fes (Hamid), who were excellent—knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely informative. Overall, this tour did not meet reasonable expectations for comfort, guidance, or value, and it certainly does not justify the high ratings this company currently holds.

Just back from the Timeless Morocco tour and had a wonderful time with Hisham, our warm, humorous, intrepid and safe driver, and Imad, our attentive and helpful main guide. Busy but thoughtful itinerary with highlights being the overnight in the Sahara camp which was definitely “glamping” (real beds, hot shower, sink and real flush toilets in your tent, indoor hot meals) and amazingly comfortable. Best night sleep of my life sandwiched between a gorgeous sunset camel ride, a starry night, and an incredible sunrise, and playful optional exit by “quads”. It was chilly at night outside but we’d read weather forecasts and were well prepared with mittens and down jacket as it’s winter in the desert! Bed was cozy! Days warmed up and so layers were the way to go. We also really enjoyed the specialist guides who offered a wealth of information in Marrakech (Ahmed), and Fes (Abdul). Be aware that to learn about different local crafts, you’ll likely be taken to artistic hubs/cooperatives and have the chance to shop there if this is of interest to you. But otherwise, some of the tours of the medina’s may be too fast to do any shopping so you may need to squeeze that in on your own. If this is important to you, inquire ahead. One of our wise co-tourists did his main shopping the night he got there before we embarked on the journey- smart tip if you like to browse at a leisurely pace. But if you are primarily there to get a flavor of the myriad places on the trip, rather than shop, relax and enjoy the fast pace! We found each hotel charming in its own way, all clean with kind staff. Hotels in Marrakech and in Fes were on busy streets so having earplugs might help those with sensitivity to noises. We would have loved to stay in a riad (with gardens, etc) in Meknes as we thought but the Dar (gorgeous, lavish home) was lovely and staff very helpful. Food was delicious everywhere we went! Fair price for a lovely experience. Would recommend to others.

We travel a lot to all sorts of places around the world, but Morocco was definitely one of the best experiences ever. If you want to experience a lot of the country and its people in a short time, this is the place for you. Colors, scents, traditional food, and incredibly hospitable people have left us with wonderful memories. A thousand and one nights came true in the desert camp under an unprecedented starry sky. I could go on for hours, but experience it for yourselves. We'll definitely be back. Our guide, Imad Benshrifa, was the best we could have asked for. We needed a dentist, and he handled that expertly as well. A well-educated, polite young man with heart and a genuine love for his work. Our driver, Jamal, was a true artist. Whether it was a high mountain pass or the narrow streets of Marrakech, he could do it all. We promise to see you again.

Is it possible to stay in Casablanca at the end of the trip instead of heading back to Marrakech for the last night?

    Tour Details

Yes, it is possible to end the tour in Casablanca instead of returning back to Marrakech. You will just need to arrange your own departure transfer to the airport on the last day.

Could you please shed some light for me on the following questions: 1) meeting time in the first day. Will it be possible to arrive directly to the hotel (if I arrive in the evening for example)? 2) is it known already what's the name of the hotel in Marrakech - in case I arrive a bit earlier so am able to book the stay in the same location) 3) what travel insurance is needed? (what's covered, insurance amount. etc. If you could share the example of the insurance required, this will be very helpful!)

    Travel Support
    • Timeless Tours OperatorWritten November 2025

      1) Yes, it will be possible, the tour meeting is usually done around 7 to 8 PM, however if you are arriving later it wouldn't be an issue as you will meet your tour leader the following day. 2) We Use the Palm Menara Hotel in Marrakech. 3) Your travel insurance needs to cover personal accident & liability, medical expenses and repatriation, travel delay & abandonment. We also strongly recommend that you take out cover against cancellation and lost/stolen baggage. Personal medical insurance does not normally provide sufficient cover and is generally not suitable for travel on our tours. You will not be able to join your tour if you have not provided us with details of your insurance or if you arrive without cover in place (no refunds will be due in this event). If you plan to arrange a hot air balloon flight, or do some scuba diving during your tour, you should check the small print in your policy to make sure these are covered. Please also check the maximum altitude that you will be reaching and that full cover including emergency evacuation is provided up to this altitude. If you are taking expensive camera gear or other electronic equipment with you then please check the coverage and the fine print of your policy to ensure that you have sufficient cover.
