Paula, traveled in June
The group caps at 8 travelers, which means more personalized attention while visiting Morocco's imperial cities and the Sahara Desert. Smaller numbers make it easier to connect with others during activities like camel rides into the Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga, watching sunsets around campfires in the Sahara, and walking through the UNESCO-listed medina in Fes. Fewer people means better access to Chefchaouen's blue-washed alleyways, the ancient Roman mosaics at Volubilis, and the kasbahs of Ait Benhaddou, making each moment feel more authentic.

Reviews of Small Group tours to Morocco
- Best of Morocco: 7 Days from Casablanca – Small Group
We had a wonderful time on the tour 7 days Morocco. They went out of their way many times to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Highly recommended!
- 9 Days Private Morocco Tour – Small Group
A great tour from start to finish. Our guide, Abdul, was absolutely exceptional. Knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely invested in making our experience memorable. He went above and beyond. When he found out it was my birthday, he quietly arranged for a cake and surprised me with it at our desert camp. It was such a thoughtful, personal touch that made my birthday extra special. We covered a lot of ground and the local guides at each stop were great. What I appreciated most was the practical advice. They knew exactly where to go and what to avoid, which made the whole experience feel a lot more authentic. The riads were beautiful and the staff at each one were warm and attentive. A real highlight of the trip. Highly recommend.
- Imperial Cities & Sahara Adventure: 9 Days Group Tour from Casablanca to Marrakech
The route design is great. It covers everything we need to see. The only complaint is the Wazo hotel in Marrakech which is too remote and too far away from medina. All other hotels have good locations and with some styles especially the riad in Fes. The riad in Fes is so pretty. Wish we could live in a similar riad in Marrakech.
What our customers ask about Morocco Small Group Tours
What is the ideal group size for exploring Morocco's cultural sites and desert locations?
Groups of 6-8 travelers tend to work best for exploring Morocco's diverse destinations. These smaller numbers make it easier to move through busy markets recent TourRadar traveler shared "The small group allowed us to be more flexible and have a more intimate experience especially at places like the Riad Dar Soukaina in Marrakech." The compact size lets visitors easily explore medina streets connect with local communities and get personalized attention at historical sites.
How does accommodation differ between small group tours versus larger tours in Morocco?
Small group tours often stay in traditional guesthouses and boutique properties such as the Riad El Palacio in Chefchaouen or the Merzouga Luxury Desert Camp rather than large hotels. These smaller properties are often located in historic medinas giving travelers direct access to local life. As noted by a TourRadar traveler "Our small group could stay in traditional riads within the medinas offering a more authentic experience than the large hotels used by bigger tours."
What is the transportation experience like with small group tours in Morocco?
Transportation typically involves modern minivans or 4x4 vehicles that accommodate 8-12 people. These smaller vehicles can access places larger tour buses cannot reach including remote Sahara Desert camps and villages in the High Atlas Mountains. According to a TourRadar traveler: "Our small group size meant we could use a nimble 4x4 vehicle to reach authentic Berber villages off the main tourist track."
What unique benefits do small group tours offer in Morocco's medinas and souks?
Smaller groups move easily through the winding streets of Morocco's ancient marketplaces particularly in Fes and Marrakech. Groups of 8-10 people can stop at craft workshops visit with artisans and learn about local traditions without disrupting daily life. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Our small group size allowed us to visit local families in the medina of Fes and enjoy authentic experiences that wouldn't be possible with larger groups."
How does the desert camping experience differ with small groups?
Desert camps in locations like Merzouga set up for small groups feature 4-8 luxury tents creating a more private atmosphere compared to large commercial sites.
