Not worth the money. This tour is a combination of two tours. The second half from Antigua to San Jose is too fast paced, you don't experience any of the countries properly. There are long travel days and then only one day to explore most locations. Save your money and do the trip independently. Hotels don't match the price point, you will have to pay for all optional activities and meals. There is no value for money here. Intrepid seems to be profit focused despite marketing themselves as experience focused. We had two tour leaders, the first was appalling giving us inaccurate information about border crossings. I believe that tour leaders are focused on making commissions out of travellers for optional activities, if this is the case I would question if Intrepid are paying them a fair wage. Being an Australian company I expect better. I have done a few trips with this company and this will be my last.Show more

Fantastic trip. This is part of a 4 leg adventure, this one I dud was the 2 middle legs (playa del Carmen to San Jose). Great guides (Fidelio, Tony & Manuel) right through. Its long days of travelling, but the destination and new friends made it so worth it. My 33 says flew by. Favourites were Belize (swimming with nurse sharks & rays, and doing the ATM cave trip) and Guatemala (animals, volcanoes, adrenalin). Would have liked to spend a day if 2 longer in Honduras, but I understand why due to security.Show more

In overall I enjoyed my 32 days Central America Tour. It took me to the places I would never make on my own without knowing Spanish. It is a well organized tour with professional tour leaders. My group had a variety of people from 18-66 yo, we had from 9-16 people on different part of tours. Mostly from Australia, Europe and Canada. All professional. It was few hiccups between the group members, nothing that you would not expect within any group of people. If you are not a people person, or you need to be alone sometimes to regenerate, ask for a single supplement to avoid these issues. And have FUN! Show more

Payment information
- For any tour departing before October 3rd, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after October 3rd, 2026, a minimum payment of $400 is required to confirm your booking with Intrepid Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Intrepid Travel will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Intrepid Travel" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
