My wife and I have travelled to 54 countries. We have been on various kinds of tours. However, in my opinion, Europamundo was absolutely the worst that I have ever experienced. If you want to know how bad you are, I can only suggest that you try another tour company yourself, like maybe a Gate 1. Let me list everything that is wrong with you. First, the only reason why I chose Europamundo is because it was advertised as being the lowest physical impact tour. That is a total joke. There were three women, including my wife, who were using their inhalers during the walks because the walks were so strenuous. In Prague, we stopped for twenty minutes because one woman couldn’t breathe. We all stood around fanning her until her system finally calmed down a little. The guide said that the walking part of the tour was 7,000 steps, which equates to four miles, up and down hills and stairs, in the heat nonetheless. That’s not including the extra mile we did after dinner just to get back to the buses. For another excursion, the tour guide told my wife not to do it because it would be too strenuous for her. So we paid for the tour but couldn’t do the excursions? Speaking about excursions, that’s not the only one that we couldn’t do. For one, we were told that it was for Spanish-speaking tourists only, because there was nobody who could conduct it in English. And while we’re on the subject of language, this tour was advertised as English-speaking. What a joke! Every bus was a mixture of English, Spanish and Portuguese speaking tourists. So the guides had to recite everything in three different languages. And it was obvious that English was not their first language, as evidenced by the fact that whatever they said in Spanish lasted a lot longer than whatever tidbits we were being fed in English. As for seating on the bus, I’m used to assigned seating, with each day everyone getting a different seat. This way, everyone gets their turn at the front. But it was not the case with this company. Instead, it was a free-for-all, with everyone pushing to get on first and claim the best seats. Every day, there was a different tour guide, different tourists, and a different bus. More than once we got on the wrong bus because there was nobody there to tell us which one was ours. As for the buses, we never knew if we were going to have wi-fi, or phone chargers, or even a toilet. But even if we had a toilet, it doesn’t mean that we were allowed to use it. One time, the guide said that they keep it locked because it would be too smelly if all 61 tourists used it. That was bad enough, but one day we drove 3 ½ hours without stopping, and couldn’t use the toilet on the bus! Speaking about tour guides, I have never seen such a bunch of slobs. When I saw one, with his earring and tattoos, I quickly grabbed my wallet because he looked like a pickpocket. And I don’t think any refined tour guide should have her midriff exposed, but maybe that’s just me. On every other tour that I’ve ever been on, the guides dressed professionally; not necessarily suits, but certainly not cutoff jeans either. My wife specifically requested to have rooms close to the entrance so she wouldn’t have to walk far, but that request was totally ignored. Speaking about the rooms, what you call four stars would barely be two stars in The States. Granted, in Europe not all hotels have microwaves or washcloths. But with our hotels, we never knew if we were going to get a hair dryer, safe, refrigerator, coffee pot, thermostat or box of tissues. The one hotel in Krakow wreaked of some perfumy chemical. It was so bad that one couple refused to stay there and went and rented a room at a different hotel across the street. We just left our window open and froze all night. As for food, the only meal that we got was breakfast because it was included with the room. We were on our own for lunch and dinner. Of course, sometimes we got back to the room after 10:00 PM, so all the restaurants were closed and we went to bed hungry. As for touring, many times we were left somewhere in town after the tour, and we were expected to find our own way back to the hotel. Once, we got a ticket to the Metro, but the rest of the times the expense of getting back just came out of our own pockets. Many days, we had to wait in the morning for the bus because the guests were staying at two different hotels. But that threw off our whole schedule, so we got back late at night. Once, we were left down the street from the hotel and had to walk back, because the driver said he wasn’t allowed to drive after 10:15 PM. At Auschwitz, we only had an hour and a half to explore 140 hectares. But it took 15 minutes each way just to get to the front gate, because the bus parked so far away. That only left one hour inside the compound. We never got to see half the things we wanted to see, such as the ditch. In all the different cities, we went past all these beautiful castles and basilicas, but we never got to go inside, probably because that would have cost money, which wasn’t in Europamundo’s budget. So we saved a little money up front with your company, but when we added meals, taxi rides and excursions, it wasn’t any cheaper. For the total price I paid, I could have booked with Gate 1, and I wouldn’t have paid for laundry, dinner, drinks or excursions. I think about how in Africa, they provided a wheelchair and driver for my wife to push her all around Victoria Falls, at no additional charge. In contrast, all you did was torture her with your “death marches.” You are a profit-oriented company who will not get any more of my business, and I will be sure to advise my friends accordingly, so that they don’t make the same mistake.Show more
