Regarding the hot air balloon safari, absolutely! We can add a hot air balloon excursion to your itinerary, usually in the Serengeti National Park. The experience includes an early morning balloon flight over the wildlife-rich plains, followed by a bush breakfast after landing.

    Based on your preferences for a 5–7 day safari, twin-bed accommodation, Mid-Range to Luxury lodges/camps, and the inclusion of a Hot Air Balloon Safari, your budget of USD 2,100–2,500 per person is a good starting point. However, for a safari that includes premium Mid-Range to Luxury accommodations together with the Hot Air Balloon experience in Serengeti, the total cost would generally be slightly higher than this budget range, especially during the busy July season when accommodation rates are at their peak.

    Regarding the accommodations, the pricing I mentioned is based on two travellers sharing a room with twin beds, not single occupancy. Since you and your cousin are happy to share, this helps keep the overall cost lower while still allowing us to use comfortable, well-equipped Mid-Range or Mid-Luxury lodges and camps.

    We are looking for a private Tanzania safari combined with a Zanzibar beach stay. Our priorities are comfort, safety, quality accommodations, wildlife viewing, and a few cultural experiences. We are not interested in rustic camping or glamping experiences. We do NOT want: Tented camps, Mobile camps, Glamping properties, Rustic safari accommodations, Shared facilities. We prefer: Permanent buildings (stone, concrete, or solid structures), Luxury or upper mid-luxury lodges, Minimum 4-star quality, Guest review ratings generally 8/10 or higher, En-suite bathrooms, Air conditioning where available, Swimming pools preferred, Secure and professionally managed properties, Comfortable beds and high-quality service.

    Yes, joining other travelers is certainly possible and can be a wonderful way to make the experience even more enjoyable. Many guests enjoy sharing safari moments and meeting fellow travelers from around the world. For your travel dates, I do not currently have a confirmed group departure available. However, I will check whether we have any other travelers or small groups with similar dates who may be interested in sharing the safari vehicle.

    Regarding Zanzibar first, absolutely. Although we generally recommend Safari followed by Zanzibar, there is no problem arranging the trip the other way around. I understand your cousin would like to compare both options, so I will prepare a Zanzibar-first version of the itinerary for your review.

    Yes, your observation is generally correct. In many cases, starting with Zanzibar can be slightly more expensive due to the additional logistics involved, particularly the domestic flight arrangements and the coordination required between Zanzibar and the safari portion of the trip. From both a logistical and experience perspective, we typically recommend Safari first and Zanzibar afterward.

    I would not describe the first few safari days as exhausting, but they are certainly the most active part of the trip. Arusha to Tarangire is approximately 2–3 hours of driving. Tarangire to Serengeti is the longest travel day, usually around 5–6 hours including scenic stops, wildlife viewing, and breaks. Serengeti to Ngorongoro/Karatu is typically 3–4 hours depending on wildlife sightings and road conditions. We regularly stop for resting breaks, stretching and refreshments, scenic viewpoints, wildlife sightings, lunch stops. All national parks and major picnic areas have restroom facilities available.

    Yes, absolutely. Day 5 includes a full Ngorongoro Crater descent and game drive. After breakfast, you will descend approximately 600 meters into the crater floor and spend several hours exploring one of Africa's most remarkable wildlife destinations. This is a proper crater safari, not just a visit to the rim or viewpoints.

    Yes, I am familiar with Sunset Villa. They currently operate a property in Arusha, which is a comfortable and well-regarded option. However, the Sunset Villa Tarangire property is not yet fully operational for guest stays, so unfortunately it is not currently available for us to include in your itinerary.

    For Tarangire National Park - is it better to stay by Tarangire Sopa Lodge or Sunset Village Lodge? Which would cater more to dietary needs and be an immersive experience? Better use of time?

It is a well-established property with excellent service, comfortable facilities, good dining options, and strong experience accommodating various dietary requirements.     Regarding your allergies and sinusitis, thank you for letting me know. This is important information. We can certainly notify the lodges and hotels in advance regarding any dietary requirements or food sensitivities. Most of the properties we work with are accustomed to accommodating special dietary requests.
