Lisbon
You'll be transferred to your hotel in Lisbon and have the rest of the day to get settled in. Stop by the reception desk in the afternoon to check the information boards for details about upcoming tour activities.

Lisbon
Spend the morning exploring Lisbon's hilly streets and seeing the decorative tiles throughout the city, then head to the historic Belem neighborhood where Portuguese sailors once departed on their voyages. The afternoon is free, so you can walk up to Bairro Alto and catch the viewpoint there. Later, return through the lively Restauradores Square, which has plenty of bars and cafes to check out.

- Day 3
Lisbon to Madrid
Start early from Lisbon and drive through the Alentejo region. You'll stop in Estremoz to see the medieval castle, then continue to Caceres where you'll have time for lunch and to walk around this historic medieval and Renaissance town. After that, head to Madrid, arriving in the evening for a transfer to Plaza Mayor.

- Day 4
Madrid
Take a full tour of central Madrid covering Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, Puerta de Alcala, Plaza de Colon, and Plaza Mayor. You'll also visit Retiro Park to see its lake and the glass palace inside. Later, tour the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, home of Real Madrid. The afternoon is yours to explore the city on your own before heading back to the hotel in the evening.

Madrid to Barcelona
Travel through Castile and Aragon, stopping in Zaragoza to see the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar with its distinctive architecture. After that, visit Poblet Abbey, a well-preserved medieval monastery set in a quiet location. Continue driving to Barcelona and arrive there by evening.

- Day 6
Barcelona to Girona
Explore Barcelona with a tour that covers Gaudi's modernist buildings, the busy Ramblas street, and sites from the Universal Exposition and Olympics. When evening comes, head north to Girona where you'll walk through the old center with its colorful houses, the historic Jewish quarter, and see the cathedral.

- Day 7
Girona to Chambery
Drive through Provence into France and stop in Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage city tied to Van Gogh's history. Check out the Roman theater and the Romanesque churches there, then head to Carrieres des Lumieres, an underground art space set inside an old quarry. Finish the day in Chambery, the medieval capital of Savoy, where you can see the historic center and castle.

Chambery to Leysin
Cross into Switzerland and reach Geneva to visit the Palais des Nations (the UN headquarters), stroll through the English Garden with its flower clock, and see the Jet d'Eau fountain. From there, go to the walled village of Gruyeres to tour the Maison Cailler Chocolate Factory. Stop at Chillon Castle on Lake Geneva's shore, then drive to Leysin, a holiday village with views of the Rhone Valley and Mont Blanc. Dinner is included.

Take a cable car up to Glacier 3000, one of Switzerland's most scenic spots with snow and ice year-round. You can walk the suspended bridge between two peaks, explore the Ice Cathedral, or try the Fun Park. Head to Interlaken for lunch, then continue to Lucerne before arriving in Zurich by evening with time to walk around the center.

Around 4:00 p.m., head to Colchester, England's oldest recorded town, for a leisurely walk through its historic streets. Continue to Harwich to board an overnight ferry to the Netherlands with en suite cabin accommodation.

Hoek van Holland to Amsterdam

The tour ends with a walk into the city center followed by free time to explore on your own.
