That's when some guests may experience seasickness. River cruises are completely different. They sail on calm inland waterways like the Danube River, Rhine River, or Seine River — where the water is naturally sheltered and smooth. There are no ocean swells, no big waves, and no dramatic rocking. In fact, many of my guests tell me they barely even realize the ship is moving! While it's always possible for someone who is extremely motion-sensitive to feel slight movement, seasickness on a river cruise is very uncommon. The ships are designed specifically for stability, and because you're sailing through protected waterways, the ride is gentle and relaxing. We've taken around 10 cruises on the big ships and this was our first river cruise and I expected the food to be as good or better than the big cruises.
