    Board the MS Crucevita at Amsterdam's port (Zaandam/Haarlem/Coenhaven pier) after 4 PM. Spend your first evening in the lively Jordaan neighborhood, easily reached by tram from the dock. The ship stays in Amsterdam for a full day to explore the canal ring.     Nijmegen, Netherlands

    Start your day with riverside views as you reach the oldest city in the Netherlands. Visit Valkhof Park in the early morning to see Roman ruins before the crowds arrive. The 13th-century Stevenskerk cathedral is best visited when it opens at 10 AM to catch the morning light through the stained glass. The ship docks near the historic center for easy exploring.

    Cologne, Germany

    Arrive in Cologne in the morning. Visit the cathedral when it opens at 6 AM to avoid crowds. The old town gets busy later in the morning. For the best views of the cathedral, head to the KölnTriangle viewing platform across the river around sunset.     Koblenz & Rüdesheim

    Start in Koblenz at the "German Corner" where two rivers meet. Take the cable car to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress for city views. In the afternoon, cruise through the UNESCO Rhine Gorge to Rüdesheim. Get a good spot on deck to watch the hilltop castles go by. Your evening is free to try the wine taverns along Rüdesheim's Drosselgasse.

    Mannheim

    Visit the baroque palace when it opens at 10 AM. You can also join an optional trip to Heidelberg Castle, which takes about 3 hours. The ship docks in the industrial port, so plan on taking a shuttle or taxi to the city center.

    Strasbourg, France

    The ship docks outside the city with shuttle service to the center. Start in Petite France early in the morning. The cathedral tower opens at 9:30 AM and offers great city views.     Mainz
