Park entrance fees are indeed included in the tour cost as shown. Unfortunately, we do not offer an evening game drive on the day of arrival in Amboseli. Yes, you can enjoy the boat ride on Lake Naivasha. However, this activity is not included in the tour price and must be paid for separately. The cost is approximately USD 35 per person for the boat ride only. If you would also like to visit Crescent Island, there is an additional fee of USD 30 per person. Regarding the accommodation: when the itinerary mentions "camping," it refers to staying in tented camps or lodges with proper facilities, not traditional camping where you pitch your own tents. You will be staying in comfortable, pre-erected tented rooms—so no need to worry about bringing your own camping gear!

Is cycling required on this tour or an optional activity?

The cycling activity in Hell's Gate National Park on Day 5 is an optional activity, not a required one. You are welcome to choose based on your personal preference. If you prefer not to cycle, you have the option to take a game drive in the safari vehicle instead. Alternatively, you may choose to hire a bicycle to cycle the 11 km route down to the gorge.

  Regarding your trip to Kenya, please be informed that a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is a mandatory entry requirement. You need to obtain the "International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis". It's crucial to get vaccinated at least 10 days before your departure, as the certificate only becomes valid after 10 days. If you are unable to get the vaccine due to age (typically over 60) or medical reasons (e.g., egg allergy, pregnancy), you must obtain a medical exemption letter from a certified travel clinic. While sometimes subject to spot checks, failing to present a certificate upon request can result in being denied entry, forced to get the vaccine at the airport (at a much higher cost), or facing a fine.

  According to Kenyan Customs regulations, the Yellow Fever vaccination certificate (the "Yellow Card") is primarily a mandatory border measure to prevent the virus from being imported. It is strictly required for travelers arriving from or transiting through Yellow Fever endemic countries. If your itinerary involves direct travel to Kenya from the U.S. without transiting through these risk areas, you are generally not subject to this mandatory check. However, please note that customs officials may still conduct spot checks upon arrival. The Yellow Fever vaccine is a live-attenuated vaccine and is not suitable for everyone. Internationally, health guidelines state that individuals over 60 years old, pregnant women, those with compromised immune systems, or individuals severely allergic to eggs should not receive this vaccine. If you fall into any of these categories, your doctor can issue an official "Vaccine Exemption Certificate," which is fully accepted by Kenyan Customs as valid entry documentation. If you do not have the vaccination certificate or a valid exemption letter, and you are randomly selected for a spot check by customs upon entry, you might be asked to get vaccinated at the airport at your own expense. While Yellow Fever is mainly a border precaution, malaria requires more vigilance during your safari. We highly recommend taking standard precautions against mosquito-borne illnesses: Wear light-colored, long-sleeved shirts and long pants, especially at dawn and dusk.
