  • N

    Nathan

    Asked on October 27th, 2024

how strict are you with the ages for this tour? my son will be 17 can I still book for us?

    Age Range
    • Absolute AfricaOperatorWritten October 2024

It would be fine for you to book the African Adventurer tour with your son, we do allow 17 year olds to come on our tours, providing that they are with an adult.

  • A

    Ali

    Asked on August 20th, 2024

Do you provide airport transfers at the beginning and end of the trip? I have dietary needs - I am a vegan. Can you cater for vegans?

    Flights / Transfers
    Meals
    • Absolute AfricaOperatorWritten August 2024

We are able to assist with airport transfers. If you make a booking you will receive a form where you can let us know your flight details and request an airport transfer. This is then paid out in Africa, to your driver. We can cater for various dietary requirements. Please just note this on the booking form so we are aware ahead of time and can let your tour leader know. It is important to note that the range of some produce in east and southern Africa is not great in general in comparison to the West which is part of the experience travelling in the third world. Where there are more restricted requirements the range is therefore even more reduced so travelling as a vegan on the trucks in Africa, it is important to have realistic expectations as to what is possible to purchase and what is available in the shops and markets on the route. Day to day you should find that meat and animal products don't dictate meal menus to the same degree that it can in the West. Fruit, toast and cereal are typically what is available for breakfast. Dinner tends to be stews, pastas and noodles, stir fries and soups with accompanying salads, rice, bread, dips and vegetables incl. jacket potatoes - all of which can be arranged without animal products.

  • D

    Diane

    Asked on February 19th, 2016

When is the best time to view the migration?

    Other
    • Absolute AfricaOperatorWritten February 2016

The prime time to visit the Serengeti in Tanzania is usually regarded as being from late November through to March when the big herds of wildebeest, Thomson’s gazelle and zebra head on to the southern plains of the Serengeti.

To get the best viewing on the other hand in Kenya's Masai Mara July through to September are usually regarded as the best months.

  • J

    Joy

    Asked on February 15th, 2016

    What is the local payment?

    Other
    • Absolute AfricaOperatorWritten February 2016

The local payment is a separate payment from the initial price you pay before you leave. If a local payment is required it will be shown with the trip price.

This second payment is made in Africa at the start of your trip. It is payable in USD.

The local payment provides us with the means for expenses that need to be paid in cash to local businesses en route to be arranged in the most cost effective manner possible, a saving we can then pass on to you. It also means we can operate in a way that directly supports local businesses and wildlife authorities as we travel.

Local Payment will not be changed once you have booked your travel arrangements.

  • P

    Paul

    Asked on February 15th, 2016

How much will this tour really cost me?

    Price / Availability
    • Absolute AfricaOperatorWritten February 2016

The costs to consider when travelling overland are:

      Safari price & Local payment,
      Optional excursions,
      Personal spending money,
      Visas.

We are always very transparent about what a tour will cost and are happy to go through personal, tailored budgets to give you a very realistic idea of what you will spend on your tour - whether you are an adrenaline junkie, souvenir-shopaholic or travelling on a shoestring…

  • A

    Alyssa

    Asked on February 1st, 2016

    Accommodation
    • Absolute AfricaOperatorWritten February 2016

  • C

    Chloe

    Asked on February 1st, 2016

What is the age range for this trip?

    Age Range
    • Absolute AfricaOperatorWritten February 2016

The main age range of people on our trips is 20 to 40.

  • S

    Sara

    Asked on February 1st, 2016

    Do you arrange flights?

    Flights / Transfers
    • Absolute AfricaOperatorWritten February 2016

TourRadar is an online booking portal for group tours only, we are not a travel agency so we cannot arrange flights for you, we reccommend using skyscanner.com or kayak.com to find the best possible price for international flights.
