    Asked on December 22nd, 2025

What dates do you have in January for group tour? And can I rent equipment for climb (boots, clothes etc)? What's the difference between ordering here and in you website? Why is it cheaper here?

    Price / Availability
    Tour Details
    • Zara Tours (Zara Tanzania Adventures)OperatorWritten December 2025

January Group Tour Dates: We run group departures throughout January with fixed starts every week. Once you confirm your preferred dates we will match you with the nearest group.

Equipment Rental: Yes you can rent all climbing equipment (boots, jackets, trousers, sleeping bags, etc.) here in Moshi. All gear is checked, clean and suitable for Kilimanjaro.

Booking Here vs Website: The itinerary and services are exactly the same. This platform allows us to offer special partner rates and promotions, which is why the price may be slightly lower than on our website.

I'd like to start the climb on January 18-20 via the Lemosho route—what's your nearest available start date? Also, could you let me know the cost of renting a full set of gear from you?

Could you tell me all the dates when you start your group climbs in January?

    • J

      Joyce

      TravelerWritten December 2025

      Something around 18-20 January
What dates do you have close to that?

    • J

      Joyce

      TravelerWritten January 2026

That sounds great! Just to confirm, the tour on the 18th is a group departure, right? I'd be joining an existing group?

Could you please let me know the cost to rent all the necessary gear?

Should I plan to arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)? And how do I book this date—can I simply select the 18th on TourRadar?

If I fly in on the evening of the 17th, arriving around 6 PM at JRO, would that work fine for the itinerary?

    • J

      Joyce

      TravelerWritten January 2026

It says a minimum of 2 people is required for booking—does this mean solo travelers like me can't join an existing group?

    • Zara Tours (Zara Tanzania Adventures)OperatorWritten January 2026

Yes, that's correct the tour on the 18th is a group departure and you'll be joining an existing group.

The cost for renting all necessary climbing gear will be shared with you shortly. I'll send you the equipment list and once you confirm what you need we'll provide the total rental cost.

Yes you should plan to arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). To book you can simply select the 18th as your departure date on TourRadar.

Arriving at JRO on the evening of the 17th around 6:00 PM works perfectly we'll arrange your airport pickup and transfer to the hotel.

    • Zara Tours (Zara Tanzania Adventures)OperatorWritten January 2026

The minimum of 2 people applies only to starting a private tour. Since this is a group departure solo travelers are very welcome and can join the existing group without any issue.

    • J

      Joyce

      TravelerWritten January 2026

Could you please let me know how many people will be in the group? I'm also looking forward to the equipment list, including clothing and other items available for rent from you, along with the costs. Finally, could you share any other important details I should know?

    • Zara Tours (Zara Tanzania Adventures)OperatorWritten January 2026

The final group size will be confirmed closer to the departure date as more travelers may still join before the tour starts.
We will share the full equipment and clothing rental list with prices shortly including all items available for rent.

      For now please note

Airport pickup at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is $40 two way pick up and Drop off

Arrival on 17th January in the evening works perfectly

A detailed pre-departure briefing will be shared before the trip

How is the weather in April? Because we want to avod the rainy season and only have time in March/April or June

    • Zara Tours (Zara Tanzania Adventures)OperatorWritten January 2025

Early March can be lovely, but as the month progresses, the rains can start to set in, making for muddy trails, cloudy skies, and poor visibility. In late March and late May, you can get lucky with some dry weather, but it's a bit hit or miss. April to early May are the long rains, and not suitable for climbing.
