Victor tours is a very low grade tour organizer. The hotels are pathetic. The itinerary could be a lot better. They didn't show us museums or places of interest in the bigger cities they took us on. In Sarajevo, I wanted to see some museums and other places of interst and the tour guide said: " it's too painful for us to go through this places ' You don't need a tour guide to visit this places that they showed us. for the Balkan having been under the soviet rule has put a dent in these countries and everything is dark and gloomy. Many hours on the bus so we sleep outside the city at cheap hotels. Most of the hotels were like Salvation Army hostels. In Sarajevo, a 4 * hotel, they needed to take out the furniture so I can open up a suitcase. If, you are interested in the Balkan look for a better tour company. Do your homework and check every little detail.

Stephan as the tour guide was was a good communicator and had in depth knowledge of each country we visited. The tour was well organised and efficient. Boyan was a terrific driver -safe and negotiated the narrow streets, and handled numerous detours with great patience.

I recently returned from the Balkan Experience tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything was professionally organized, and I didn’t have to worry about a single thing. The entire team was incredibly helpful and friendly, always available whenever needed. Our guide, Stefan, was outstanding — exceptionally knowledgeable and supportive. With Victor Tours, you’re truly in good hands. The Balkan Experience tour is both informative and fun. You’ll spend time with the group but also have plenty of free time to enjoy on your own. The pace is fast, which makes it perfect if you want to explore seven countries in a short time and see all the main highlights.

We were a group of 5 Australians who joined the perfect tour called the Balkan Experience, operated by Victor Tours, though we booked through TourRadar who had a special rate at the time we booked. This 14-day tour covered seven Balkan countries: Serbia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Croatia. Our guide, Stefan was the best guide, we've experienced as long time global travellers. He is knowledgeable, articulate and well travelled. Sasha, our bus driver, was also amazing; super friendly, stern with the border control guards, and provided comfortable, safe and clean transport the entire trip. The itinerary had a wide range of interesting activities covering something for every type of person; relaxed free time, beautiful countryside scenery, fantastic centre of town hotels, history, food, wine, art, lakes, mountains, cities, culture galour! The tour had the perfect blend of organised short walking tours, all hotels and breakfast included, mostly half day or less of driving between stops, a couple of 2 night stays and plenty of recommendations provided by Sasha and Stefan of where to eat and what to see during our free time each day. The entire trip was so relaxing, safe, stress free thanks to a well planned itinerary and expert guide and driver, and there was epic amounts of learning about each country and historical connections with each other. Most importantly, the tour was lots of fun and fantastic value for money. We travelled 12 - 25 April - spring time - which was the perfect time of year for this area. We experienced 1 warm day and 1 day of rain. The weather was spot on, everywhere was lush green and throughout spring flowers in the cities and across the country landscapes were picturesque. The other people on this tour were singles and couples, making up a total of 10 on tour. Don't look any further - book yourself onto this tour today!

The tour was extremely well organised and the tour guide (Stefan) was truly exceptional providing a huge amount of information along the way. Good itinerary. The transport vehicle was new and extremely comfortable and all the hotels were of a good standard. Cannot fault the tour or the company at all but just be aware that the days are quite long (8-9 hours) Great experience and thanks to Stefan and Victor Tours.

How long are the days? Would you say this tour is more sightseeing (longer days, ending in the evening), or more moderate where we typically end in the afternoon?

      TravelerWritten September 2025

Are there any special documents we need to travel with prescription medication?

    • Victor Tours DMC OperatorWritten September 2025

Of course it is possible. The cost for one night is 110 EUR per room per night (classic package) or 150 EUR per room per night (upgraded package).

    • Victor Tours DMC OperatorWritten September 2025

In all Balkan countries power plugs and sockets (outlets) of type F are used. The standard voltage is 230 V at a frequency of 50 Hz. The standard European plug Type C is used as well.

    • Victor Tours DMC OperatorWritten September 2025

There are the days when you will finish in the early afternoon, but most of them are full-days trips, especially the ones when you travel from one country to another (starting early in the morning (8:30 - 9 AM) and finishing/arriving in the evening (7 - 8 PM), with many stops on the way. Still, you would have enough time to explore the places on your own.

    • Victor Tours DMC OperatorWritten September 2025

In case that you use special meds, you should have prescription, just in case. Also, in case you need medical attention during your trip, it would be a good idea to bring a health summary or a statement from your doctor. This can help doctors in the Balkans understand your medical history more easily. Having a travel insurance is a big advice.

We are interested in the Balkan Experience, October 11-24. Can you recommend a hotel that we could stay in for a day or two ahead of time in Belgrade? Any suggestions are most welcome, including a better way of getting to Belgrade.

    • Victor Tours DMC OperatorWritten September 2025

There are flights from Ottawa to Belgrade (09.10) Air France, with only 4 hours stopover in Paris. There are way more affordable tickets, but with 2 stopovers (2-3 hours stopovers) via Lufthansa, that could be an idea too.

      Marc

      TravelerWritten September 2025

Do you offer any pre- or post-tour day tours out of Belgrade? We are flexible on our travel dates.

    • Victor Tours DMC OperatorWritten September 2025

    Asked on July 26th, 2025

visa requirement for american citizens? what is your best price for two people? what is the additional cost for the upgraded package? in addition to the tour cost, what is the usual additional cost for meals and entrance fees, tips, optional excursions? other expected expenses? how much time is spent traveling vs. sightseeing in each country.

    • Victor Tours DMC OperatorWritten July 2025

      1) there are no visa requirements for US passport holders 2) classic package is 2416 EUR per person, while the upgraded package is 2766 EUR per person 3) for meals, you should count on roughly around 30 EUR / per person / per day. Tips are not mandatory, but they are of course, welcomed. That would be absolutely your decision, based on your satisfaction, but let's say anything from 5 EUR / per person / per traveling day is OK. There are no optional excursion offered, pretty much everything is included in the price, except for the dinner in the Bohemian area of Belgrade, called Skadarlija, which is 30 EUR per person 4) You don't have any other expenses that you can expect, except for souvenirs,etc... 5) Approximately 3-4 hours of driving (depending from day to day) followed by a around 2-3 hours of sightseeing. The only exception is day 4, when the tour is moving from Serbia to Bulgaria, there you can expect around 5 hours of driving (not all at once, divided into two 2,5 hours rided, with a stop in Niš in between).
