Dear Ruth, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review of your Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet tour. It truly means a lot to our entire team at Swotah Travel and Adventure. We’re delighted to hear that the tour lived up to your expectations and that you enjoyed the variety of experiences across the three unique destinations. We're also pleased that the bus company and overall logistics met your expectations despite the challenging roads. Your kind words about our guides, especially in Bhutan and Tibet, are incredibly encouraging. We’ll be sure to pass along your compliments. It warmed our hearts to hear that your final evening in Kathmandu with Sijal left a special impression. Ending the journey at Swayambhunath on a motorbike, no less, is indeed a unique way to close out an epic adventure. Thank you again for travelling with Swotah. We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable journey soon! Warm regards, Swotah Travel and Adventure Team

Do all of the hotels / lodgings in Tibet have oxygen available in case a passenger suffers from altitude sickness?

    • Swotah Travel and AdventureOperatorWritten January 2026

You are correct that international airfare is not included. You would only need to arrange your flight to Kathmandu and back home.
Once you land at Kathmandu Airport, we take full care of everything — all ground transportation, border transfers, and logistics — right up until we drop you back at the airport after the tour. There are no additional flights or hidden transport costs during the tour itself.

    • Swotah Travel and AdventureOperatorWritten January 2026

Yes ✅ You will have a professional English-speaking guide for the entire 21 days, across all three countries. Our guides are experienced, friendly, and very used to supporting international travelers throughout the journey.

    • Swotah Travel and AdventureOperatorWritten January 2026

We have been successfully operating this tour since 2018, with travelers from all over the world. Tibet, Nepal, and the surrounding Himalayan regions are our specialty — this is home for us, and you'll feel that care throughout the trip.

    • Swotah Travel and AdventureOperatorWritten January 2026

The tour price includes hotel stays every single night of the journey. We carefully select comfortable and well-located hotels to ensure you can rest properly, especially during higher-altitude days.

    • Swotah Travel and AdventureOperatorWritten January 2026

The itinerary is designed with gradual altitude gain, which helps most travelers adjust comfortably.

All our road vehicles in Tibet are equipped with oxygen bottles for emergency use
Oxygen is also available in hotels/lodgings in Tibet, again for emergency situations
Our guides are trained to recognize symptoms early and respond quickly

While oxygen is used only when necessary, having it available gives peace of mind. Many travelers with mild altitude sensitivity have successfully completed this tour with us.

Are the visas for Bhutan and Tibet group visas and I won't have to obtain individual visas?

      TravelerWritten August 2022

Is the SDF tax a one of 200 USD for the whole stay in Bhutan or 200 USD per day? At what stage is this paid - on arrival? It looks like a PCR test is required on arrival. As arrival is in the middle of the tour, will the local tour operator help to organise this? Is there still a quarantine period even for fully vaccinated tourists? It seems that the visa can only be obtained via prior steps to be taken by the local tour operator. Can you provide further information on how this works as it is not very clear.

    • Swotah Travel and AdventureOperatorWritten August 2022

      1. SDF is $200 per day. You pay this to the local tour operator as a part of the package. It is paid for while booking the trip. 2. PCR test is required even for fully vaccinated travelers. We as a local tour operator, facilitate you with PCR Tests. 3. Once the booking is confirmed, we will facilitate the visa for Bhutan.

When you say that the 200$ per day is paid directly to the local tour operator, does that mean it is already included in the advertised price of the tour package, or is it an additional expense on top of the advertised price?
