  Our cruise ship lost its anchor half-way through our cruise and we did not cruise for the remainder of the intinerary. Instead, we rode on buses for hours each day and spent several more hours waiting for a bus to pick us up. We paid for a very expensive river cruise, and for nearly 40% of our vacation, we were on a BUS TOUR. Uniworld did not acknowledge that this error was avoidable and was fully the fault of their crew. We have attempted to communicate our concerns to Uniworld through multiple channels and have been ignored. They did response to Costco Travel (our booking agent) and although they called the lost anchor a "bizarre" situation, they praised their crew and then offered a $400 credit for a future cruise. This amounts to less than 5% of the cost of the cruise and is actually less of a discount they have offered throught the almost daily advertisements they send us. Their own policies state that guest have the right to be reimbursed for portions of their cruise that are "less than what they paid for" - yet they never shared this with passengers and have shown no concern for many heartbroken guests. We will never be able to afford another "once in a lifetime" experience like this; however, if others do have the opportunity, they should NOT consider Uniworld.Show more

  Fabulous experience. Besides a luxurious foodie experience with very nice wine pairings, a big reason that I chose this cruise was to better understand Bordeaux wines. I was not disappointed. The number of wines that are tasted on excursions is less than I expected, but there are different wines served on board every day. And there are plenty of opportunities to visit tasting rooms or chateaux to do more tasting.Show more

  I sailed on the SS. Bon Voyage in August 2019 and all expectations were exceeded in every department. From the minute you step on board the staff are so helpful, kind, humorous, personable, and skilled at making you feel welcome. The itinerary was a delightful mix of vineyard exploration where we learned about the process of making the beautiful Bordeaux blends to trips to centuries old towns in the surrounding regions. I was delighted to find there were plenty of active excursions including hikes and bike rides for those inclined too! Highlight for me had to be the food and wine available on board. Every meal and course was nothing short of excellent. The ship itself is truly a 5 star hotel on the river. Comfiest beds I've ever slept in! Cant wait for my next oneShow more

  I sailed on the brand new S.S. Bon Voyage in June 2019 and the entire experience was nothing short of perfection! Bordeaux is spectacular enough on it's own, but this ship really stole the show. I can't say enough about the warmth of the attentive staff and all the fabulous food and wine that we had onboard. Off the ship I tried to take advantage of as many of the active excursions as possible. Biking through the vineyards of Bordeaux was as magical as it was serene. One morning we even got up extra early to take a yoga class inside the fortress at Blaye, which was an incredible experience. What I really love about Uniworld is that all of these experiences, all the phenomenal food and wine and so much more are included. All you need to do is show up, sit back and have the time of your life.Show more

The food, the tours, the service was all five star. We loved the all-inclusiveness of the trip and that we owed nothing when we got off the ship.   Just in awe from start to finish! Uniworld really knows how to take care of their passengers. If you love wine and are looking for an exceptional experience on an amazing ship Uniworld & Bordeaux are for you. Uniworld is known for their ships and this the newest in the fleet is a piece of floating art work. The staff and crew are the best, always smiling and willing to assist you with whatever your need may be. The food was so delicious and presented like a 5 star michelin restaurant. You have to try out the Remy Martin tour if you love cognac!! If you love to cook nothing beats the cooking class from a French chef, another must! Overall had the best time on this itinerary and cant wait to go on another!Show more
