    Jess

    Asked on July 12th, 2026

Can we depart on December 13?

    Tour Details
    • TourlandOperatorWritten July 2026

For this tour, the first day of the itinerary is the VIA train departure day. The train is scheduled to depart on December 14 at 3:00 PM, and the departure date cannot be changed.

To ensure you have enough time to arrive, rest, and prepare for the train journey, we recommend that you arrive in Vancouver on December 13.

  • H

    Helen

    Asked on June 5th, 2026

Is there a tour from 14th or thereabouts?

    Price / Availability
    • TourlandOperatorWritten June 2026

Our last departure for this particular tour is expected to be in early April 2027. May I ask if your travel dates are flexible? If you are able to arrive a little earlier, we can check availability for the final departures of this tour. Alternatively, we would be happy to recommend other suitable tours based on your preferred travel dates.

    • H

      Helen

      TravelerWritten June 2026

Just wondering what the Yukon tour would be like if that was done mid April? Would the Northern lights be visible? Would the snow still cover everything?

    • TourlandOperatorWritten June 2026

Unfortunately, most aurora tours end in early April, as the nights in the north are no longer long enough afterward to provide sufficient darkness for aurora viewing. As a result, there are generally not enough hours of darkness for a worthwhile aurora experience.

    Asked on March 12th, 2026

I have a client interested in travelling from Vancouver to Calgary on this tour in May 2026. I noticed the departures currently listed are in March and April. Could you please confirm if the tour also operates in May, or if the May dates have not been released yet? If so, could you advise which departures are expected to be available? Additionally, could you please confirm if the train upgrade to a sleeper cabin is available for two people? Ideally, the clients are looking for individual sleeping accommodation (upper and lower berth). Finally, could you confirm whether the total cost listed is per person or whether is a better cost for two travellers.

    Price / Availability

    • TourlandOperatorWritten March 2026

This tour is a winter-only tour, so the available departure dates are until April only. If your clients prefer to join a tour in May, please consider other tour options available.

Please feel free to let us know their preferences, as well as the exact tour date and the number of travelers for this group. The tour price and upgrade fee will depend on the number of travelers and rooms required.

  • E

    Eileen

    Asked on January 10th, 2026

I am looking for a tour that offers a Christmas experience. Do you have tours over the Christmas holidays?

    Tour Details
    • TourlandOperatorWritten January 2026

The tour you are inquiring about does have dates over the Christmas holidays. However, we do not yet have the pricing for the next winter season. We are working on preparing it. You can review the itinerary first, and if it fits your plans, we would be happy to provide you with this season's pricing for booking.

  • A

    Anna

    Asked on January 9th, 2026

Can the hotel accommodate 3 person in 1 room? Maybe with extra bed? How much is the additional charge? Also, how about the transport in Jasper, from train station to hotel, and from hotel to the bus transfer, do we have to arrange uber or taxi by ourselves? Or is it walking distance?

    Accommodation
    Transport
    • TourlandOperatorWritten January 2026

Regarding the bed arrangement, please note that triple and quadruple rooms do not come with extra beds for the 3rd or 4th guest. A triple room normally has a maximum of two beds only.
The hotel will be located in Jasper town and is usually within walking distance. The final hotel name will be confirmed about three days before departure. If the hotel turns out to be a bit far for you, taxis are easy to arrange. We usually select hotels that are conveniently located and easy to access on foot.

  • V

    Vicki

    Asked on January 8th, 2026

What time does this tour start on Day 1? is it 15:00pm like it mentions below? or do we need to arrive earlier?

    Tour Details
    • TourlandOperatorWritten January 2026

Train will leave the Vancouver station at 1500PM, but it would be ideal if you could arrive at least 30 minutes before for checking in.

    • TourlandOperatorWritten January 2026

We recommend that you arrive at the VIA Rail station at least one hour prior to the train departure, as self check-in is required for the VIA train. Please note that you will travel on the VIA train independently and enjoy free time in Jasper before joining our guided tour. You will meet our tour guide on the morning of Day 5. Day 1: Please arrive at the Vancouver VIA Rail station by 2:00 PM and complete the self check-in process independently. (This tour includes an economy seat. If you wish to upgrade to a sleeper berth, please advise your preferred tour date, and we will be happy to check availability and the applicable upgrade fee for you.) Day 2: Arrive in Jasper at approximately 11:00 AM and proceed with self check-in at the Jasper hotel. Day 3: Free time in Jasper. We recommend booking optional activities during your stay. Popular options include the Maligne Valley and Pleckaitis Canyon Icewalk Guided Tour or the Winter Wildlife Discovery Guided Tour. Alternatively, you may enjoy exploring Jasper town at your leisure. Day 4: Take the shuttle bus from Jasper to Banff and complete self check-in at the Banff hotel. Day 5–7: Meet our tour guide and join the guided bus tour.

    • TourlandOperatorWritten October 2025

Unfortunately, the sleeper berths on your preferred tour date are sold out, and only economy seats are currently available. The next available date with sleeper berths is January 5th. If you would like to change to this date, the upgrade fee is CAD $790 for two people. Regarding accommodation, the upgrade fee for two nights at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is CAD $840. The above price is subject to change. However, due to hotel policy and the tour itinerary, we regret that we are unable to arrange accommodations at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise or Fairmont Banff Springs in Banff.
