Would it be possible to arrange pick up on that day and stay on the same hotel in Delhi for that night? We can book in our side the same hotel if needed and pay separate to the tour. Also, this tour used to be in offer for around 450€, however I can see prices have increased recently. Any plans to make a discount?

I did the Golden Triangle with Varanasi Tour – 6 Nights / 7 Days India Package and overall it was a great experience! The sights in each place were incredible and the guides and drivers were all really knowledgeable and easy to get along with. The days were planned well (usually about 5–6 hours) so I had most evenings free to do my own thing which I really liked. If I were to do it again, I’d definitely upgrade to the 5-star hotel option. The 4-star hotels were fine, but not really the same standard you’d expect in Western countries (more like 2–3 stars). Since hotels in India are pretty affordable, I think the upgrade is worth it for the extra comfort. Same with the train to Varanasi: I took 2nd class, which worked but wasn’t super comfortable. Next time I’d go for 1st class if possible. A couple of things I think VWI could improve on: it wasn’t clear beforehand that this would be a private tour. I ended up being the only person with the guide, which was fine, but would’ve been good to know in advance. I also wish they gave a clearer idea of how much cash to bring for entry fees, tips, and other extras so you can plan better. Breakfast at the hotels was included and dinners were on my own, but lunches weren’t really planned. It would’ve been helpful if the guide suggested a place for lunch or built a lunch stop into the schedule.Show more

Our tour with this tour operator was a mixed one, unfortunately. We felt compelled but to let future travellers aware. On the positive, we covered most places as it should be in the itinerary, not without some efforts (questioning local tour guide on our itinerary, to & fro conversation with tour operator while on the tour, dealing with rude local guide, witnessing altercation etc). The hotels - the best one was in Agra (Marriot). Hotel in Delhi and Jaipur were ok. The worst was in Varanasi, stains on all the pillows, the extra bed for my son, had molds on his pillow. On the negative side of things, every city you were brought to, had its local tour guide. When we questioned places to visit that were supposed in our itinerary, the tour guides had no clear itinerary, at least in our scheduled itinerary. The tour guide would ask to see our itinerary as scheduled in this tour. This made it very frustrating to have to communicate with the contact person via WhatsApp to and fro several times. This happened in two cities. This shouldn't happen on a tour. The worst tour guide was in Jaipur and he became rude to us on questioning about not following the itinerary. The last tour guide in Varanasi even scolded the driver in front of us and nearly started an altercation. It was sad to see the social class level treatment in front of us, especially for the young child in the family. The driver in Delhi started off ok but the tell tale signs started when he asked whether we like coconut drink. We thought we were going to be treated. He stopped the car at roadside stall along a busy street and at the end the driver collected 500 rupees from us for two coconuts. He asked us to stay in the car and he would deal with the coconut stall. This driver has a habit of chewing and spitting (tobacco & paan?) and would wound down the car window or open car door to spit during the tour. He even made a stop (along roadside stalls) to shop for items saying they are for his family. At the monkey temple (which is in the itinerary), we were left without guide, when we asked for a tour guide to go along to this temple, driver was adamant saying no tour guide and he refused to walk into the temple with us. The car (Toyota Innova Crystal) - just adequate for five of us (two elderly parents, my son, wife and myself plus the driver and all our luggages. My elderly father was in front passenger seat. Mother, wife and son in second row. I was squeezed in the third row just to make all things work. To allow our parents to be comfortable during long drives. Delhi to Jaipur and Jaipur to Agra were really long drives. In Delhi, when meeting the local guide, the local would ask my elderly father (in the front passenger seat) to move to second row to squeeze in with three others. We refused to this request and the guide was squeezed in second row. We tried our best to accommodate this. In Jaipur, it happened again, different local guide demanded to move my father to have the front passenger seat. This time. I wrote to Sukret (operator contact person) and addressing my concerns on this and also compromising the safety not to be able to fasten the seat belt. This shouldn't happen at the first place. The sunset cruise in Varanasi (as stated in the itinerary) was a disappointment. My message to the operator via WhatsApp To Sukret and Sukret failed to respond and address this until today. "Hi Sukret, we arrived at the hotel not long ago. It was disappointing for the last activity (sunset cruise). Despite my efforts in the morning contacting you to confirm this, however, this didn't happen. We basically sat on a boat (stationary for a few hours) and watching religious ceremony. Despite seeing many other boats cruising along the river. My boy was waiting until he fell asleep. Saying this is disappointing is under statement as this has became the 'second episode' which i was trying to avoid this morning." Other than that, the food was great, as we paid more to include within our package. With all the above negative points (which shouldn't happen during the tour) that we had encountered and endured with my elderly parents and teenager son, we will unable to give any better than 2 stars. These two stars, one goes to the foods and another goes to the guide on the last day in Varanasi who was attentive. This very professional guide who rides a motorbike, welcomed us when we arrived at Varanasi, brought us to a number of places in Varanasi and also sending us off at the Varanasi train station. Thank you to you. At least we have some positives from the tour.Show more

We have already addressed this matter internally with the driver in question. As for the sunset cruise in Varanasi — we regret any disappointment caused. You were taken to witness the world-renowned Ganga Aarti ceremony from the boat, which is the highlight of the evening cruise. While the boat remained stationary to allow you to view the full ceremony from a prime location, we understand that expectations may have varied, and we apologize for any miscommunication. We genuinely tried to make this journey memorable for you and your family — including elderly parents and your child — by ensuring your hotel stays, intercity transfers, sightseeing, and meals were all managed as per the package inclusions. The golden triangle tour with Varanasi was great ! I booked this tour with my girl friend for 7 days in India as we specially wants to see Delhi, Agra, Jaipur & Varanasi. Sukret was great with communicating with us and kept us well informed, very polite and a pleasure to meet. It was my second time in India and for my girl friend this is her first time. She was very anxious about India before but the hotels, car, driver and tour guide in the program were very good ! She felt herself safe and happy from the beginning of arrival transfer in Delhi. Mr Ganesh was our driver in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. He met us at Delhi airport and drove us around for four days to view the sights and also dropped us to the Agra Railway Station to catch the train to Varanasi. The train tickets which we travel from Agra to Varanasi and Varanasi to Delhi were luxury. It was A.C Coach which make our journey comfortable and memorable. The tour guides appointed in whole the trip were very knowledgeable and happy to answer for any questions about the history of the places. They were very kind, professional, thoughtful and polite and nothing seemed too much trouble! One of the best moment of the trip was the Ganga Arti’s in morning and evening by boat ride in Varanasi. Also Mr Amit was an exceptional driver in Varanasi and was a pleasure to be with. We have booked 4 Star category Hotel’s which were all good. Specially the Hotel in Jaipur. I recently traveled the Golden Triangle with Varanasi tour, and it was fantastic! Everything was very well organized, from day 1 airport pick up to..the hotels.. to the sightseeing.. private car and a good driver. Our guides were knowledgeable and made every place come alive with stories and history. The mix of the vibrant cities and spiritual Varanasi gave me a complete experience of India’s culture. Minal our tour manager keep on touch and enquired about our status and made sure all went well. The driver Ramesh was very helpful and supportive as well. He provided useful tips and suggestions and made sure everything went smoothly. Definitely would recommend them for anyone wanting a hassle-free and memorable trip.Show more

  Would it be possible to get an early train from Agra to Varanasi next day rather than the overnight train which is sold out instead of changing the whole itinerary? I know what would add an extra night in Agra but wondering if it is possible.

- Yellow fever - Certificate of vaccination required if arriving from an area with a risk of yellow fever transmission for India. Ideally 10 days before travel.
- Japanese B encephalitis - Recommended for India. Ideally 1 month before travel.
Visa
- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before June 26th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after June 26th, 2026, a minimum payment of 30% is required to confirm your booking with Volunteering With India. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Volunteering With India will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Volunteering With India" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
