We had a wonderful guide who helped us in every situation and genuinely cared about our well-being. During the trip, we got to see the most amazing sights and experience a variety of things. The Maori culture evening was very memorable, and I made my best friends while boating. The various hikes and magnificent landscapes were also wonderful experiences that we never tired of. The icing on the cake was a visit to Hobbiton. The trip could also be customized with additional activities. But thanks to our wonderful guide, the trip was really easy and memorable. The itinerary is very well thought through and the accommodations were perfect for our group, I don’t normally enjoy staying in hostels but when everyone in the room is a new friend it’s great. The optional activities were so much fun and there was no pressure at all to join everything. The best part was our guide Niamh, she’s so down to earth, makes sure everyone is included and having a good time and she just has a great nature. New Zealand is an unbelievable country. The scenery is unreal and there are so many different places to explore. The activities included in this tour were very diverse and all so much fun. Unfortunately the hostels we stay at in New Zealand (and Australia) do not accept anyone over the age of 45, so we wouldn't be able to book you onto a tour there.

The accommodation included on this trip is multi-share throughout. However, we can look into the possibility of a private room. Not all private rooms are ensuite, so you would be sharing a bathroom in some locations.

Yes, there will be plenty of vegetarian options available throughout the trip, and we'll absolutely be able to cater for this. On Day 1 of your trip, there are no planned activities, so you can choose to arrive at any time. The group meets around 7pm for a welcome dinner, so we recommend arriving before then if possible.

However we do room you with someone of the same gender (excluding multi-share accommodation) and try our best to room you with someone of a similar age. Also Group Members are in their hotel rooms for a very limited time throughout the trip, as there are activities most days and things planned most evenings.

We do not include Coromandel Peninsula, Kaikoura & Franz Josef on our itinerary. However, I am just checking with the local team to see if you would have some time do visit these locations when you are on the trip.

They mentioned that since all 3 locations are quite far from where you'll be during the tour, there unfortunately wouldn't be enough time to visit them as part of the itinerary. If you're looking to add these to your travels, they recommend arriving a few days early to explore Coromandel and then visiting the other 2 locations after the tour, as they are on the South Island.
