Rome
You'll arrive at Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci Airport and take a transfer to your hotel in Rome. Once you're settled in, you'll meet your Travel Director and the other people on this trip. Dinner happens at a local restaurant later in the evening.

Rome
A Local Expert takes you through Vatican City, starting at the Vatican Museums where you'll see Michelangelo's ceiling in the Sistine Chapel. From there, you head to St. Peter's Basilica to check out Michelangelo's Pieta and Bernini's Papal Altar. The afternoon gives you time to browse trendy shops or relax at a sidewalk cafe. You'll finish with an exclusive after-hours visit to the Basilica of Saint Praxedes.

Rome
Today's yours to use however you like in Rome. Walk through designer boutiques along Via del Corso, Via Nazionale, or near the Spanish Steps if shopping appeals to you. There's also an optional trip to Pompeii if you want to see the ancient Roman city buried by Vesuvius in 79 AD.

Rome to Venice
You'll travel through peaceful Tuscan countryside, pass Bologna, and move into the fertile Po Valley region. By water taxi, you arrive in Venice where you'll have a cocktail at sunset while musicians perform. Dinner follows at a local restaurant later.

Venice
Start by seeing the Doge's Palace and the Bridge of Sighs in this romantic city. Then you'll participate in a workshop to see traditional glassblowers at work at a historic arts centre. Afterwards, a private cruise takes you to St. Mark's Square to view St. Mark's Basilica and learn about Venice's former wealth and power.

Venice to Ljubljana
You'll depart Venice by water taxi and head to Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital. A Local Expert shows you Prešeren Square with its Triple Bridge, the baroque Franciscan Church, and the Ljubljanica river banks. There's an optional trip to Lake Bled where you can ride a traditional wooden pletna boat across turquoise glacial waters to an island.

Following the Drava River, you'll cross from Slovenia into Austria and reach Maribor, a 700-year-old university town. From there, you head past Graz through Styria's forested mountains and on to Vienna.

Vienna
There's an optional private tour of Schönbrunn Palace and its formal gardens available this morning. Later, a drive takes you around the famous Ring Road where you'll see the Opera House, Hofburg Imperial Residence, and Parliament. You'll walk through Innere Stadt, Vienna's first district, with a Local Expert. Choose between a traditional Viennese cafe for coffee and Sachertorte, or visit the Capuchins' Crypt where the Habsburg family is buried.

Vienna to Innsbruck
You'll pass the Benedictine monastery of Melk before reaching Salzburg, Mozart's birthplace and location of the Sound of Music. A Local Expert shows you Mirabell Palace's formal gardens (the Do Re Mi location), Residence Square, the fortress, the cathedral, and Mozart's birthplace on Getreidegasse. An optional excursion to Eagle's Nest is available. Later, you'll travel to Innsbruck in the Tyrolean mountains to see the Golden Roof and Imperial Palace.

Innsbruck to Lucerne
You'll pass through flower-filled meadows and chalet-style villages heading to Liechtenstein. Spend time in Vaduz, then cross into Switzerland through mountains to reach Lucerne on the lake. Visit the Lion Monument, carved into a limestone cliff as a memorial to Swiss Guards who died in the French Revolution. Choose from several restaurants for your dine-around dinner.

Lucerne
Mount Stanserhorn's the destination this morning on a workshop experience. An open-top, solar-powered cable car takes you to the summit where you can breathe in mountain air and see views across to Alsace and the Black Forest on clear days. You'll walk scenic pathways, watch for marmots, and hear a conservation talk from a Swiss ranger about local wildlife. Back in Lucerne, you can walk across the covered Chapel Bridge and see the baroque Jesuit Church. The rest of your time is free to shop for watches and chocolates.

Königswinter to Amsterdam
A private estate tour shows you one of the famous Rhineland castles, and you'll learn about these living cultural monuments along the Middle Rhine while having wine. From there, you continue to Amsterdam. A canal cruise takes you through the UNESCO World Heritage canal district, where you'll see elegant merchant houses from the 16th and 17th centuries. You'll pass beautiful gables, churches, and the iconic Magere Brug. A Celebration Dinner at a local restaurant tonight toasts your adventure and new friends.
