Being in our 70s, we didn’t want to get turned around in a foreign country. Right from the start, Greg provided the enthusiasm, experience, and expertise we needed. Every day was a new experience and sleep at night was filled with wonderful experiences. We are looking forward to another international trip and would eagerly register for any trip Greg leads.

Not sure if that’s correct and apologies if not) we spoke with were very impressed at what we covered in the time we were there.
We were well taken care of. We had lots of information about the area we were in in order to get food and drinks.

While Sean had one of the most important and impressive jobs, keeping us safe on the winding and narrow roads of Ireland. We saw a wide variety of sites all around Ireland, from cities like Dublin and Belfast to smaller towns like Killarney and Kilkenny. One of the things I liked the most about the trip was the variety o…We saw a wide variety of sites all around Ireland, from cities like Dublin and Belfast to smaller towns like Killarney and Kilkenny. One of the things I liked the most about the trip was the variety of experiences. Not only did we tour the typical sites, like Blarney Castle and Waterford, but experienced the majesty of the Cliffs of Mohr and Giant’s Causeway. One of the most fun places was Ireland’s best pub where we learned about hurling and had a rousing singalong. If I had a complaint it was the pace of travel, although I did know that the itinerary was planned as a busy trip.

Michael had plenty of energy to keep us going. Throwing in lots of surprises such as local bakery items to enjoy and sampling delicious liqueurs on the way. Great sense of humour and many activities on bus to keep entertained.
Itinerary was very comprehensive, including city escapades, fine dining, rural adventures and wonderful scenery through Finland and Norway.
Excellent bus drivers throughout trip with special mention to Darek who did bulk of driving. We all felt safe with Darek at the wheel.

Greg was fantastic! He was professional, kind, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable on our touring countries. He made the trip fun, and it was evident that he put a lot of time and effort into preparing for the trip and making it an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Regarding the itinerary, I wish we were able to see some of the Christmas markets at night. You don’t get the full experience when you only see them by day and miss out on all the lights at night. I wish we would have had more time to spend in Colmar and Strasbourg instead of being rushed to get back for dinner or either stayed somewhere closer to the markets so there was an option to go back after dinner on our own. I have a huge complaint about the hotel Mövenpick we stayed at our last night in Zurich. I was really disappointed Insight would choose a hotel of that caliber for us to stay in. It was very old and outdated. It was not the standard of hotel I would expect to stay in for the amount of money we paid for this trip and certainly didn’t compare to the quality of hotels we stayed in early in the trip. I was so grossed out by it that I contemplated paying out of pocket to get a hotel room somewhere else for the night. The room was extremely hot, the bed was lumpy, the pillows were flat. The carpet was stained, wallpaper pilling off the walls.

We have traveled with Insight twice. The first trip went so well that we booked with Insight again. And our first director set a high bar but we can honestly say Greg exceeded our expectations! And our first director set a high bar but we can honestly say Greg exceeded our expectations! We can go on about the usual stuff that guides do like keep the group on time and educate about the history of places. Sure Greg did all that. But he did extra things that were so thoughtful. He’d see us struggling to do a selfie and would jump in to take our pic. And although he told us 10 times to take out euros for Ireland when we came up short for lunch he exchanged currency with us so we could still eat. He offered to do this without hesitation! And another spectacular thing he did which our first director didn’t do that I think was unique to Greg was he curated a soundtrack for our trip and then shared the playlist after our trip so we can listen and reimagine our destinations fondly. I don’t think we’ll ever hear the song Here Comes the Sun without calming and thinking of our adventures. What a gift! Greg is the best!

Greg our tour guide was exceptionally in his organisation, knowledge and commitment to ensuring that we enjoyed our trip. His attention to details and the extras to make the group feel welcomed and special. My personal experience on my special day was made even more heart warming by Greg's kindness and effort in make sure that I felt loved and acknowledge with an celebration at the evening meal. Arthur our driver was amazing and his experience in driving showed in the professionalism he demonstrated in through the entire 13 days. Overall i would throughly recommend this trip to anyone especially if they are blessed with Greg and Arthur.

We just returned from our trip around the British Isles and we loved it but to give credit to Greg who made the tour extra special. I cannot imagine a tour guide as good as Greg. I cannot imagine a tour guide as good as Greg. From his use of music to set the mood and the veritable treasure trove of facts. I really enjoyed our stops in the pubs. And for someone with physical issues I really appreciated the luggage delivered to our hotel rooms. At the start and end of the day Greg addressed all the tour group if any questions arose.Then when several members of the tour started coughing he was Jonny on the spot with sprays and disinfectants. The tour could have been improved by skipping Inverness as it had our least favorite room and while my wife and I think most meals lacked flavour the kitchen at the hotel took the cake for poorest food. Also the floor in our room and the dining hall could have used a good vacuum. I must give a shout out to Lee our driver who was the epitome of smooth!

The driver was the top of his trade, too. Ireland has some very narrow and windy roads and he handled them beautifully and kept us safe and amused.
The itinerary was even better than I expected, the hotels were lovely and the Optional Experiences, bar one, were quite good. We had taken some unrelated day tours in Northern Ireland prior to joining this tour and they were very rushed and disappointing but with Insight we had enough time in most places to do what we came for.
We will surely book again with IV.

He went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that all the travelers got the most out of this trip. Given he does many different tours, next time we are going to take a tour, instead of deciding on where to go, we will be looking for the tour that he will be conducting.

His sense of humour, approachable personality, exceptional knowledge of each destination and random places on the way was amazing and he delivered all the historical information in an interesting and engaging way (history was not my best subject at school!)
From starting each morning on the bus with the Beatles song "Here Comes The Sun" (which totally worked as there was only one day out of 21 that I got caught in the rain!) to giving us clear information about meet up times, locations, free time, wake up times etc., I didn't have to worry about anything. When a problem did arise he was attentive and sincere with hus responses and moved 'heaven and earth' to rectify the situation - thank you Greg for a fantastic vacation - you made a conesive team out of 32 strangers!

The thing that contributed to it being the best contiki trip I’ve done though was the tour manager, Greg. He was friendly and inclusive to everyone on the trip, he set up extra dinners and tours for us, he always knew the hottest spots around town for nightlife, and he never once showed that he was stressed or tired. The trip went off without a hitch - despite other travelers showing up late to things etc. - because Greg was so good at his job!

We even managed to squeeze in a trip to an abandoned water park outside of Hue that everyone was keen to see thanks to Greg! Accommodation was always in the heart of each location and transportation was always comfortable and on time. The guide Greg was the best in ensuring the show was kept on the road, he was the perfect guide mix of fun and approachability and treated everyone the same. Having done tours with other companies a good guide is priceless and Greg really is up there with the best! Thanks again!

He knows the customs, cultures, food places, bars and fun locations to check out as well as his knowledge on all the sites we go to is impeccable. He went above and beyond to ensure we all felt welcomed and got to know each other. By the end of the tour it was hard to say goodbye. Greg organised so many extras with dinners, bars and activities outside if the tour structure. After spending a month with him it was really hard to say goodbye. Transport was fun and dirrerent, boats, trains, coaches and planes all ckean and efficient. Hotels were really nice, I expected to stay in hostels but we stayed in really nice places. I will be recommending this trip and Greg needs a pay rise. He made my trip.

He went above and beyond to make sure that everyone was having a good time. His organisational skills and knowledge about each of the places we visited, meant we got to see so much and make the most of our time there. I can honestly say it was thanks to him (and driver Filipe) that I had the absolute time of my life. You won't find a more amazing tour guide and I feel lucky to also be able to call him a friend!

• Made a lot of photo stops in Norway so you never missed a great shot.
• Planned so we could stop and better places for lunch (MacDonald’s) than just service stations with potato chips.
• With much energy and enthusiasm each day, how could you not have a great time.
This was also my 10th Contiki trip and Greg and Martin were two of the best I’ve been lucky to have travelled with.
In terms of the base trip itself I can really recommend this trip as it covers such an array of places and cultures. Russia really is a must to see as well as the Fjords in Norway. METime optionals I can recommend most, I didn’t do the ballet or piano recital, just the smorgasbord on the ferry was the only one I don’t think was worth the money €40, the food wasn’t great and there are other cheaper and nicer options on board, like steak and chips for €17. Also time in Helsinki is quite short so make the most of that.

The Russia plus tour is full of unavoidable change but Greg made sure the natural volatility of the region affected our tour minimally. Further, Greg went above and beyond to make positive that every bit of our time together was used to its fullest extent. I learned so much just from the carefully collated videos, slideshows, etc. that Greg shared during our long coach rides. He made everyone in the group feel special and included, taking note of individual wants and preferences and promptly responding to them. I personally hit my 30th country on this trip, and can say with 100% truth that I've never experienced any of those countries quite as well as the way I saw Russia under Greg's guidance. Truly a treat to get to travel with him!!

The first half of the trip in Scandinavia was much less of a party trip, with each day on the bus looking out to stunning views, while Russia allowed for more evenings out on the town, while also seeing the beauty that was the cities.

This trip has really opened my eyes in terms of what the western world says isn't always correct.

In June of 2017, I took a leap of faith and embarked on a 23 day adventure that brought me from Germany, through Russia, ending in Poland, visiting 8 countries in all. And I'd do it all over again!
…In June of 2017, I took a leap of faith and embarked on a 23 day adventure that brought me from Germany, through Russia, ending in Poland, visiting 8 countries in all. And I'd do it all over again!
The tour started in Scandinavia, and explored major cities such as Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, and Helsinki. The stops we made were relevant, fun, and taught me a ton. After this, we made our way into Russia, Belarus, and Poland, spending a little over a week diving into Moscow, Warsaw, and other large city centers. It's hard to choose a favorite leg of the journey, each stop had its own wow moments!
The me time options were all worth it, with the exception of a few food options I would encourage others to take a second look at. Each stop started with a city tour, providing a deep dive into the area before we explored on our own. This included seeing things from the standard monuments and famous landmarks to the smaller hole in the wall places, providing a true local, non-tourist feel. My only suggestion to Contiki is to provide more outdoors-type options, such as hiking the Fjords of Norway.
Contiki also provided local guides that were super passionate about their cities, and gave a perspective that really opened my eyes. They escorted us through major landmarks such as the Hermitage and The Kremlin, sharing their knowledge. On occasion, communication was difficult from competing tour groups or environmental sounds, a headset would be a great solution.
The accommodations were a mix of hostels and hotels, which provided the basics at a budget price. I'm a simple guy and when you spend 90% of your day outside the room, you don't need anything fancy. Laundry was very difficult to come by - I washed my clothes in the hotel sink more times that I would've liked. A coach was our primary means of travel, providing a comfortable and safe environment where I could sight see, relax, and make new friends.
Last but not least - our Contiki team is what made this trip memorable. I was lucky to have Greg (tour manager) and Marty (driver), as they provided an experience that I will never forget. The level of knowledge, professionalism, organization, and inclusion was remarkable. I immediately felt comfortable in the group, despite not knowing a soul. Greg made me feel included with regular check ups and clear lines of communication. His knowledge of each area, despite visiting 8 countries and many more cities, speaks volumes to his commitment to the role. Marty's driving skills were impressive to say the least, there were a few times we held out breath down a narrow street or in a bad traffic jam, but Marty pulled through with the bus erupting in applause.
Overall, I could highly recommend this trip to others. An amazing experience awaits you that will give you memories of a lifetime. I'd encourage others to specifically request, rather demand(!), Greg and Marty as your Contiki team, as without them, I can't guarantee the same experience. Thank you to Contiki, Greg, and Marty!!

He was extremely approachable and friendly, super fun and was always upbeat, great to talk to and I'm sure I can speak for everyone when I say it felt very personalised. He would check in with everyone every day to see how they were going and asked if they had any questions about the trip. And although he did a fantastic job of organising everything to run so smoothly, he felt like a great friend, not just a tour manager.
The group was fantastic, I couldn't have imagined experiencing this time with more amazing people. The transport was Always top notch. Food was authentic and tasty. Greg was great for the whole trip and really insightful about each place we visited. He made every adventure fun and we always had a good time where ever we went. Greg kept us entertained on the bus with tunes and games. Myself and my girlfriend really enjoyed our experience and would not change a thing about the trip. Greg is the man!

From the first day greg made us feel welcome and the group that we got where all amazing, genuinly feel weve made some friends for life.
The whole trip from start to finish was effortless due to gregs organisation, all we had to do was hand over some dolla on the first day and after that, all we had to do was get out of bed and show up on time. Greg brought us to some hidden gems in thailand we never would have seen or expeierenced without his local knowledge and experience.
But not only was greg a tour manager; he was one of us and i think everyone would agree that young Greggles is just as much as a friend as everyone else on the tour.
Professonal, knowledgable, fun but a terrible dancer ;) to wee meet again greg you legend! Good luck.

He was an amazing trip manager who, even though everything was planned to perfection, was very easy going, relaxed and funny. We visited 7 countries in 9 days which sounds insane but we covered way more ground and activities than my husband and I would have ever been able to if we had attempted a tour of this magnitude on our own. We would definitely do another Contiki tour after the level of service we received. Highly Recommended!

I must admit that everithing was so fast, we just had few time in almost every country but we had the opportunity to know 7 incredible countries. And I think that it could be impossible to visit 7 countries in just ten days without be running!
I enjoyed everything the food, the trasportation, the hotels (the jail it was a rare experience I'll never forget ), the beautiful and unique sights of every country and of course the company of my contiki team.
Mark, our driver always did his best and drove us safe until our destiny.
Finally I want to say that nothing of this could have been possible without the incredible job of Greg, our guide, because he always gave us the relevant information of each country, recomended us the things to do, to eat, to drink and to see en each country. He always made of our journey the most enjoyable by playing music or playing games. And when the situation turned into difficult he always knew what to do.

Greg was a very passionate and dedicated guide as he brought us safely through the European countries providing us with really good information on each country as well as tips only the locals know.
The hotels we stayed in varied from really good 5 star, to very basic hotels. Some hotels provided an above average breakfast, which was awesome! Although some produced breakfast's that didn't even look appetising.
The 'ME' time options was fantastic, great opportunities with great prices too!
The included activities were also fantastic, some of them were a little hard to believe that they were included. thank you.
The coach was always kept clean, and it was also a good place to relax. Greg always knew how to liven the coach up, or set the right mood with his sound tracks, depending on the previous nights activities.
Greg made our European experience something that we will truly remember for a lifetime.

He tailored the trip to most people's needs. He would make sure to give us history, sightseeing, food (and gelato), and general tips for each stop on our adventure. He is a funny guy who loves having a good time. Somehow he has the most energy after an entirely too long night out, and wakes up and makes sure the things that need to get done in the morning get done. That is a special kind of quality and Greg really has the magnitude it takes to be an excellent tour manager (I've had several before this trip). I would absolutely recommend Greg to anyone going on a Contiki trip, and wouldn't hesitate booking another myself. Great guy, amazing tour manager.

Definitely not as advertised. Some of the people on the tour were hospitalized due to the accommodation. You literally leave every morning at 7 or 8am and get a day or two in every city. The staff are very careless and are intoxicated every night and hungover every morning. You will be staying in roach invested 1 star motels or campsites. Do yourself a favor and stay away from contiki. Save the money and backpack. You'll have a much better time. Many people from our tour left and paid for their own accommodation and travel expenses.

You could tell he went above and beyond with everything. He was very knowledgable about all our destinations, made our long bus trips fun with games and music.

Not only were the places beautiful, but the people who surrounded me throughout the journey were the MOST beautiful, fun, kind and loving people I have ever met. He is a ball of sunshine, adventure and good energy - definitely the one responsible for such a amazing trip! We made some amazing new friends, ticked a few things off the bucket list and gained a whole new perspective on life. We both agree that the tour was incredible but it simply would not have been anywhere as good without Greg Colgin's extra 15 miles he put into every component, his somewhat impressive versatility made the early stages especially so much more comfortable and enjoyable. He somehow managed to maintain his professional aptitude when needed but was so adaptable to the many needs and wants of the group including us, made every person feel the excitement of the trip and would always be there when you needed him. After the trip we had with Greg , its been easy for us to make the decision to try another Contiki tour for our next holiday!

The tour would not have been anywhere near the same without our incredible tour manager Greg Colgin, who put an inconceivable amount of effort everyday into balancing everyone's needs in the group, keeping all peoples interests in check (whether it be sport, history, news, ect) and to generally balance the dynamic of the group. I have so many great memories of Greg, he was a true lad. Also, Barry Meehan, our coach driver (and tour manager through the Greek Island bout of the tour) was also an absolute legend. Professional and responsible, and yet so knowledgeable about all the areas we traveled through and always down for a chat about literally anything.

ThE trip is probably one of the best things I ever did for myself. It took me out of my comfort zone completely and forced me to make friends with people who were once just strangers in a bus.I met pepole on this trip that have had a huge effect on who I am today. Not only did I get to see Europe and all its amazing beauty but I made friends who still have a huge hold on my heart.
Though if wasn't always smiles and hugs as you can imagine forty five days on a tour bus with 50 very different individuals . This is where our amazing tour manager Greg came in. He was able to crate a relationship with us that prompted both friendship and leadership. The way he connected with all of us as a group and as individuals is something to be admired. He was able to pick up on issues and solve them before they became too messy. He helped us all feel safe but it was his ability to make us feel like a family that meant he went the extra mile. Fifty people and I never herd one of us speak anything but highly of Greg and I think that is a huge part of why our 45 day contiki went so well and is remembered only fondly by all of us. We covered a lot of countries in such a small time it was a lot to take in. What I don't think a lot of people realized was that whIle we were there trying to take in this information; it was Greg our tour manager who was feeding us a lot of the info. His knowledge and passion for the job and the countries we visited was impressive and helped bring Europe alive. This trip taught me so much about other cultures buy surprisingly it taught me a lot more about myself. For my first contiki I could not have asked for a better group or tour manager for it is the people you travel with who help you to create those memories which last a life time. When I tell my grandchildren about my trip through Europe it'll be about he people I was with as much as where I was that I will remember fondly.

Our tour guide (Greg) was so friendly and immediately got on with everyone, catering to each and everyone's needs, taking the time to get to know everyone to make sure they had the best trip possible. The day sheets were always so well planned out and colourful. It just seemed like he put 100% effort into everything he did which is part of what made it such a good trip, we got to learn so much about each place as we went along, then come night time he would show us how to have a good time wherever we were. The accomodation and food were nothing special but generally clean and what you would expect on a budget holiday. My least favourite accomodation was Rome - there was zero insulation in the cabins and I was attacked by mosquitos the entire time - from head to toe.
The tour itself was a whirlwind (as expected) and at times this meant compromising seeing certain things for others. I was disappointed that we didn't get more time in Pompeii (we had an hour) however this was out of everyone's control. The crazy schedule of the tour also meant that I saw and experienced places and things that I never would've gone without Contiki. Some of my favourite places were stopovers that I had barely thought about.
Personally, I wouldn't do a Contiki tour again. I don't feel like you need to (especially in Europe) because I've seen so much and know where I want to go next and the tour taught me how to be a good traveller for my future endeavours. Contiki has a reputation, and as much as the company and the guides try to remedy it, there are people who are there for reasons that I didn't share. Most of this was to be expected, and was again no one's fault. But it was definitely the hardest aspect of the tour for me. The partying was fun, but I wouldn't put myself through the anxiety and high school type drama involved with living with 46 hungover 20-30 year olds again.
The saving grace on my tour, however, was certainly my trip manager Greg Colgin. He was an amazing asset to all of us, and continuously went above and beyond to ensure we'd all have the best trip possible. I cannot thank Greg enough, and I will be forever greatful for the way he handled our tour.

We were also fortunate enough to have Greg Colgin as our tour guide. He went above and beyond helping us with whatever we needed; food recommendations, party destinations, cool things to see and even checked up regularly on people who were feeling unwell... In his own time! What made this trip so much better was the rich history that Greg was able to tell us about each destination. This man was a fountain of knowledge and in my opinion, Contiki are lucky to have him as part of their team!
The tour itself and destinations were fabulous. The itinerary was awesome and diverse, but it would not have been the same without Greg and Riccardo helping us out!

My trip was a fantastic mixture of site seeing and good times. Greg was a fountain of knowledge, and knew so much about each city we went to, not just the usual tourist information. He took the time to speak to everybody to ensure that every single one of us got what we wanted out of the trip.
Bento was an amazing driver and clearly loves people. One of my favourite nights includes Greg and Bento coming out with us. I am so happy that I chose to come on the tour, especially for my honeymoon.
As I would expect with all bus tours, when you throw 35 random strangers together, there were some tense times. Despite this I made some fantastic friends.
This trip was a trip of a life time, and I am already intending to use Contiki again, and hoping I will manage to see Greg and Bento at the same time.

In nine days on the road we saw more and did more than expected. The Optional Experiences amped up the energy required but thank good goodness we bought in. Greg has a strong knowledge of Scotland's history, other points of interest and proudly talked about the stunning countryside. We appreciated hearing about Scotland's music artists and movie and book titles we might find later. Greg has a nice manner, is very energized and engages easily with others. Les our coach driver was very responsible behind the wheel and the coach vehicle was extremely comfortable. Would do it again!

We took all of the optional excursions, but a person could also have a good experience by doing some exploring on their own. Our tour included tickets to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, an amazing performance by both military and civilian performers. It was a real high point of the trip! We are already thinking about a return trip to beautiful Scotland, and based on what we learned from this trip there are several places we would like to focus on in greater depth.

Greg was such an excellent guide keeping it fresh and interesting all along the way. His choice of music to highlight wherever we were had us all thinking we knew how to sing by the end of the trip. We learned so much history along the way that we can never look at Ireland and Scotland the same. Many memories were created that will be with us for a long time.
Gerry our bus driver had skills that amazed us on more times that we could count.
