The additional experiences mentioned on the website are included in the tour package unless otherwise noted. These featured activities are part of Insight's signature approach to immersive travel, and you won't need to pay extra for them. If there are any optional experiences with an additional cost, they'll be clearly marked in the itinerary and travel documents.

Can I clarify the following before booking this tour: 1. If we want to reserve seats for the tour group, how much is the fee per person? How long can you hold the reservation for? 2. When is the full payment expected (ie. Tour starts 3rd December for example) 3. If, by any chance, we cancelled after the full payment, how many days before the tour date is refund applicable?

To reserve a booking, a deposit of $200.00 per person is required. We can hold the booking for up to 48 hours to give you time to finalize the details. The final payment is due 60 days prior to departure. If you cancel before the final payment deadline, only the deposit amount will be forfeited. If you cancel within the final payment deadline, a cancellation fee will apply, and the amount will vary depending on how many days remain before the tour begins.

How active is the tour in terms of physical activity?

The tour is classified as leisurely, involving 1-2 miles of walking per day, usually on flat surfaces.

Our complimentary arrival transfer is only available on the first day of the tour. If you choose to book an extra night before the start of the tour, we won't be able to provide the complimentary transfer. However, we can arrange for a chargeable arrival transfer. As for our cancellation policy, it is based on how far in advance you request to cancel your booking. The percentage of the cancellation penalty will depend on the specific booking conditions of the tour. For this trip, a deposit of $200 per person is required, with the final payment due 60 days before the start of the trip.

Regarding the itinerary, I wish we were able to see some of the Christmas markets at night. You don’t get the full experience when you only see them by day and miss out on all the lights at night. I wish we would have had more time to spend in Colmar and Strasbourg instead of being rushed to get back for dinner or either stayed somewhere closer to the markets so there was an option to go back after dinner on our own. I have a huge complaint about the hotel Mövenpick we stayed at our last night in Zurich. I was really disappointed Insight would choose a hotel of that caliber for us to stay in. It was very old and outdated. It was not the standard of hotel I would expect to stay in for the amount of money we paid for this trip and certainly didn’t compare to the quality of hotels we stayed in early in the trip. I was so grossed out by it that I contemplated paying out of pocket to get a hotel room somewhere else for the night. The room was extremely hot, the bed was lumpy, the pillows were flat. The carpet was stained, wallpaper pilling off the walls.Show more

Payment information
- For any tour departing before September 24th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after September 24th, 2026, a minimum payment of $200 is required to confirm your booking with Insight Vacations. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Insight Vacations will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Insight Vacations" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.

- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
