Gratuities are a customary way of recognising the Travel Director and Coach Driver for the service they provide throughout the journey and are separate from their contracted remuneration, which is structured to be fair and competitive. Where offered, gratuities remain discretionary and are intended as a personal thank you for good service rather than an obligation. We are grateful you took the time to raise this and hope you enjoyed other aspects of your journey.

  Greg ( tour director) and Tibor (driver) did a great job providing an exciting and safe tour of Scandinavian cities and magnificent fjords! They made the sometimes long bus rides fun with music, videos and educational commentary! They were both very kind and thoughtful meeting our every need! The trip was well organized, the bus was spotlessly clean and we made plenty of rest stops throughout our 2 week journey! I would gladly book another tour with Greg and Tibor !!!Show more

  My wife and I never actually made the tour as it was cancelled so Insight Vacations transferred us to the next level down sister company Tranfalgar. We have travelled with Trafalgar before so this was not the problem. What was the problem was that Trafalgar was offering 15% discounts on all other tours before and after our date except our tour.Obviously they knew their sister company wasn't going to proceed with their tour and those already booked will automatically get transferred to Trafalgar and pay full price. So, even though Insight has the higher-end 'business class' tours compared to sister company Trafalgar and the tour is one day shorter, there is virtually no difference in the two costs! So not only is the price difference unacceptable but this overall holiday is now more expensive, even though we are now going on a 'more affordable' tour, due to an extra night accommodation and extra travel costs back to the original final destination.Show more

We appreciate how frustrating it must have been for both you and your wife, particularly given the changes to your plans and the additional costs you have described. We would like to reassure you that we always strive to ensure the vast majority of our trips operate as scheduled, and we carefully manage our capacity to support this. On rare occasions, however, it may be necessary to amend confirmed departures due to operational requirements. In such cases, we aim to support our guests by offering the option of a full refund or an alternative tour with one of our sister brands, as was arranged for you with Trafalgar. We are sorry for any confusion regarding the discounts available at the time. We understand how this may have felt unfair, and we apologise if your Travel Agent did not advise that the promotions displayed on the website apply to new bookings only. That said, we are pleased to confirm that your Global Tour Reward was applied in recognition of your loyalty as a returning guest. We do appreciate your concerns regarding the overall cost of your revised holiday, including the additional accommodation and travel arrangements required. Your feedback is important, and we will ensure it is shared with the relevant teams for review. Despite the challenges you experienced, we do hope you and your wife are looking forward to your upcoming tour in July.   There aren’t enough adjectives to say how great Greg Colgin was as our tour guide. He was totally working all the time to provide us with a vast wealth of interesting history and highlights we should not miss. He went over and above by offering interesting videos and music to fit what we would be seeing. He gave us local food treats to try and he always made sure we were safe and having a fun time. Greg always had a smile on his face, even at the end of long days. He truly has a gift of making people happy so they get the most out of every experience.Show more

  We booked an Insight vacation tour to Scandinavia and fjords last July. i will start by saying that it is a major RIP OFF. We paid 6500 USD per person for a 15 (14 nights) day tour. That is around 928 USD per night per couple. Our hotels are supposed to be 4-5 stars but our rooms were average to bad! No aircon, no view (most of our view was the back of the building where they dump garbage, or the carpark). The rooms probably cost 150-200 USD a night at most. i even looked up our rooms on agoda or booking and some are not listed, probably because they are so bad. Only after contacting Insight head office on the 8th day, that the room quality improved. The 2 hour "city tours" that are included in the package is basically a 2 hour ride on the bus, with a guide pointing out landmarks and various places of interest. it was so fast you can't even take a proper photo. In Copenhagen, we passed by the iconic Nyhavn for 3 seconds! Good thing we arrived Copenhagen a few days before the tour and had a proper tour around the city on our own. You also have to pay for "optional experiences" like museum visits (which were worth it) and things like swedish meatballs dinner (that we didn't participate in and didn't regret because the ones that went, said it was underwhelming, old and dusty.) Our tour director was inefficient, condescending, basically insulted some of her previous clients, talked to us like we were children, would not let anyone use the toilet on the bus (ONLY FOR EMERGENCY - i can still hear her voice in my head since she told us every single day). she was also constantly arguing with our bus driver and it was so awkward to listen to. There is so much more that was wrong with the tour. I am writing this review because I don't want anyone else to waste their money on this tour. It was a horrible experience (not only for me, but most of our tour mates). After we emailed insight, they said someone will get back to us within 28 days. What a joke, and i realised later that it because after 28 days you can no longer leave them a review on Feefo. I can and am happy to provide photos of the rooms and additional evidence like email correspondence with them.Show more
