- Daniel· December 21st, 2018Siem Reap guide had poor inflection and obviously struggled with understanding some English fundamentals. My daughter and I became increasingly frustrated re-phrasing very basic questions about the itinerary and when we could arrange to start the next day. When his copy of the itinerary cut off half a sentence at the end of the page describing an event we would be doing he did not comprehend enough to realize a discrepancy. He did arrange to give an extra dinner to make up for any shortcomings. He had a lot of knowledge about the sites we visited but my daughter and I were sad that we could not effectively communicate with him. After one big miscommunication I pulled him aside and said we would no longer be repeating so many times and he should not be ashamed to use google translate more. I believe he would be much more effective if he practiced inflection and vocabulary with a sound recording for American or British English.
