Itinerary

Volcanoes National Park Gorilla Trekking
After an early breakfast, you'll head to park headquarters for a ranger briefing about your assigned gorilla family. Your trek group stays small, maximum 8 people, and you'll walk through farmland, bamboo forest, and rainforest. The trek lasts anywhere from 1 to 5 hours on uneven ground before reaching the gorillas. You then spend one hour watching their behavior, silverbacks, and possibly baby gorillas. After descending back to the vehicle, you return to Virunga Lodge for dinner.

- Day 3
Volcanoes National Park to Kigali
Following breakfast and checkout, the 3-hour drive back to Kigali includes a lunch stop at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you'll walk through Kigali's markets and check out the city's sights. You'll spend 1 to 2 hours at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where survivors present exhibits about the 1994 genocide and Rwanda's recovery. That evening you stay at Heaven Boutique Hotel.

Rubondo Island Lake Victoria Activities
This day gives you choices for how to spend time on Rubondo Island and Lake Victoria. Options include guided forest walks to see birds, butterflies, and plants; nature drives for sitatunga antelope, giraffes, and elephants; boat rides for close views of hippos and crocodiles; catch and release fishing; or visiting a neighboring island village and vegetable garden project.

Serengeti Great Migration
After breakfast, you fly for about 2 hours from Rubondo Island to Serengeti National Park to see the Great Migration. Kimondo Migration Camp positions itself seasonally right where millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle gather. You'll relax and have lunch at camp, then head out on an afternoon game drive to watch the herds crossing the Mara River during the migration.

Serengeti to Departure
Following breakfast and checkout from Kimondo Migration Camp, you transfer to the nearest airstrip for your flight home, leaving your African safari adventure behind.
