The tour was super well-organized and our guide/driver kept us informed of the itinerary at all times; he always let us know exactly how much time we had at each stop and what time we had to be ready in the mornings for the daily adventures. I appreciated his story-telling skills; he had us cracked up regularly with the story about the Yule lads. Also there was one day when the winds were so strong they pushed our minivan over to the side, but Thor calmly got us back on the road. All in all, everything went smoothly and it was an amazing trip thanks in part to him!Show more

This was our first time in Iceland and this tour was perfect for us! We saw so much on this tour. The first and last day is on your own in Reykjavík so you can pack in as much or as little as you want. The remaining 6 days was packed with amazing sites and great hotels. We got to see the northern lights on our 1st night as the sky cleared up, but sadly it remained cloudy the rest of the tour and we were unable to see it. But the hotels we stayed at would have been perfect if the weather cooperated. Thor of GJ Tours was awesome! He had so many stories of Iceland that he told us as we drove around. And going in the offseason was great as there were less tourists around.Show more

10/10 tour- Couldn’t have asked for a better itinerary!! We saw northern lights on two nights and each day had a fantastic day filled with a mix of beautiful sights, historical information, educational and our tour guide added lots of folklore. Everything from stories about the Vikings, early settlements and the trolls. We added the ice caves tour. All agreed you would never see so much on your own! This was our first group tour- we usually do solo traveling- 26 people on our tour from all over the world- sounds big but was actually 10 families/couples, so was perfect size to meet so many great people! At so many of the stops you can break off (walking to waterfalls/climbing the volcano) so you were not on top of people the entire time. Do your research on food as meal variety was limited- not by tour but hotel restaurants had limited items- lamb, fish and usually a burger. Stopping at Market first day helped to work around food allergies - bought GF snacks/bread for the trip. Comfortable coach bus- great driver! If you want to see Iceland this is the trip!! You won’t regret this tour.Show more
