    Kristina

    Asked on July 18th, 2026

Are parking entrance fees included in our trip?

    Price / Availability
    • Bonvoyage Kenya SafarisOperatorWritten July 2026

You are correct: visas and national park entrance fees are **not included** in the safari cost. These will need to be paid separately. Visa fees are usually paid directly to immigration (online, depending on your nationality), and park entrance fees are typically paid either in advance online or at the park gate.

    • K

      Kristina

      TravelerWritten July 2026

I see on the ratings here there were complaints on accommodations and itinerary meaning sticking to it what has been put in place for this? How many parking fees are there?

    • Bonvoyage Kenya SafarisOperatorWritten July 2026

Due to extreme weather conditions rendering roads impassable, there may be changes to the accommodations or route. However, this is a very rare occurrence, prioritized for the safety of tourists, as animal game drives take place on natural dirt roads inside the parks.

According to the itinerary, you will spend 3 days in Masai Mara, 1 day at Lake Nakuru, 3 days in Amboseli, and 2 days on game drives in Tsavo Park.

Moreover, there are extra opportunities for cultural visits to Maasai villages, birdwatching at Lake Naivasha, admiring the scenic vistas of the Rift Valley, and touring the city of Mombasa/ Diani Beach guided walks.

Can we get the number for airport transfer driver from airport to hotel arrival and also on departure do we get train tickets when we arrive or upon departure?

    • Bonvoyage Kenya SafarisOperatorWritten July 2026

After you complete your booking, we will share the WhatsApp number and telephone contact of your driver who will pick you up from Nairobi Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi.

On the last day of your safari, your train transfer from Mombasa/Diani to Nairobi is included. Once you arrive at the Nairobi train station, a driver will be there to transfer you to Nairobi Airport for your international departure.

On a 10-day Safari, all meals, transfers, accommodation, train tickets, and airport pick-up or drop-off services are included from the start of the safari until the last day.

Additionally, as you are a group of 9 individuals making an early reservation, we will provide you with a private 4x4 9-seater Land Cruiser jeep for the safari. The 4x4 Land Cruiser safari jeep is specifically designed to traverse challenging African landscapes. It generally features guaranteed window seats for 9 passengers, a pop-up roof for 360-degree wildlife observation and panoramic photography, a cooler box, charging ports, and a professional driver/guide.

Please share park fees for the duration of the trip. Do we pay there in Kenya money or Tourradar this will let my group know the Kenayan money is needed to be had for the park entrance.

    • Bonvoyage Kenya SafarisOperatorWritten July 2026

Here is a clear summary of what to organize that is **not included** in your safari price:

**1. Kenya Visa** - Please apply for your Kenya e-visa **at least 5 days before your travel date** to avoid last-minute issues.

**2. Park Entrance Fees – USD 793 per person (For 10 days safari)** - For your **10-day safari**, the **total park entrance fees/tickets are USD 793 per person**. These entry fees in various Parks/attractions are charged **per person, per day**, and **Masai Mara** is currently the highest at **USD 200 per person per day** in high season. The **USD 793 per person** covers **all national parks and wildlife attractions** included in your safari itinerary. Payment options: Bring **cash in USD**: In Kenya, park fees are paid to the government in USD for non-residents. Only **new, clean notes**, preferably **50 or 100 USD bills**. Park fees are paid **once before the safari starts or on the first day**, and we issue a safari entry voucher. Or withdraw cash **from an ATM after arrival in Nairobi** – many ATMs in Nairobi can dispense USD notes.

**3. Mosquito / Insect Repellent** - During migration season, there are usually more insects in and around the parks. Please carry enough **mosquito/insect repellent lotion or spray** for the full **10 days** of your safari.

**4. What to Wear on Safari** - As your tour includes **both game drives and guided game walks**, comfortable and practical clothing is important. We recommend bringing: Lightweight **neutral-colored layers** (khaki, tan, olive, brown), A **warm fleece** or sweater for cold mornings and evenings, A **light rain jacket**, **Closed-toe walking shoes** or sturdy sneakers. Try to avoid: **Very bright colors**, pure **white**, and **dark blue/black**, as they can attract insects and stand out more to wildlife.

**5. Weather & Packing Tips** - At this time, **mornings and evenings are quite cold**, while midday and afternoon are milder. Dressing in **layers** will help you adjust easily as temperatures change during the day.

    • K

      Kristina

      TravelerWritten July 2026

Are you saying the park fees per person is $793 per person us dollars? I think if this is the case it should have been told to us so we could budget accordingly and they dont take charge cards just cash?

    • Bonvoyage Kenya SafarisOperatorWritten July 2026

To summarise and clarify what you can expect:

      1. **Clean USD Notes (Cash Payment)** - Please bring **USD notes dated 2013 or newer**. Notes should be: Not torn or damaged, Without markings, writing, or stains, Preferably larger denominations in good condition – 50 / 100 bills.

      2. **Park Fees & Safari Voucher** - Park fees (USD 793) are paid **directly to the government authorities**, similar to how visa fees work. Before your safari, the company creates a **safari voucher** for your trip, which includes: Hotels/lodges names, no of nights, and whether hotels are located inside the park or not. Routes and number of days on safari. Parks and attractions to visit. The **total park fee amount is calculated from this voucher** and paid to the government in one lump sum before the safari begins.

      3. **If You Do Not Enter a Park** - If, for any reason, you do not enter one of the parks listed on the voucher, the company will: Apply to the government using the same safari voucher to request a refund for the non-entered park(s), explaining the reason. Once the government approves this, the **park fees for the missed park(s) will be refunded to you in cash by our company**.

    • Bonvoyage Kenya SafarisOperatorWritten July 2026

To summarize the arrangements for your group of 10 travelers:

      1. **Standard Option – Two 7-Seater Safari Jeeps** - You would be split into **two vehicles**. Each jeep is **comfortable** and can carry your **luggage** during the safari. This option gives everyone **more space**, better **wildlife viewing**, and allows for easier interaction with the guide in a smaller group. This is also the option recommended by the safari planner. Both vehicles will be traveling together.

      2. **Alternative Option – One 12-Seater Safari Vehicle** - Your whole group can be in **one larger vehicle** together. It can also accommodate **all your luggage**. This is a good option if it is very important to you that everyone stays in a single vehicle.

Based on experience, we also recommend the **two 7-seater jeeps**, as this usually provides a more comfortable and flexible game-viewing experience, especially for a group of your size.

what flight i need to buy and how long take a visa

    Visa
    • Bonvoyage Kenya SafarisOperatorWritten June 2026

You should book your flights to arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi. Once you share your exact arrival and departure details, we will coordinate your airport transfers and safari schedule accordingly.

Regarding the visa: The online e-visa for Kenya typically takes about three working days to be processed once the application is submitted, but processing times can vary. We recommend applying as soon as your flights are confirmed and at least one to two weeks before travel, to allow extra time in case of any delays.

This time looks very expensive from New York to Nairobi so looking for best deal.

    • Bonvoyage Kenya SafarisOperatorWritten June 2026

Please arrange your Kenya visa in advance, ideally at least 5 days before your trip. Mornings and evenings can be quite cold, so please pack warm layers (e.g., fleece/jacket, scarf, warm socks). Daytime can still be warm, so packing layers is best. There may be short guided walks among wildlife, so please bring: Comfortable closed walking shoes, Neutral/earth-toned clothing (avoid bright colors), Insect repellent lotion/spray. Kenya currently has no mandatory vaccination requirements for most travelers, but please consult your doctor or a travel clinic for personal advice. Ask about antimalarial medication and any other recommended travel medicines.

Can a retired couple join a small group during this period with flexible dates? Would it be possible to stay in convenient lodges? Can we prolong our beach stay in Mombassa?

Yes, as a retired couple, you can absolutely join a group safari. Each group is limited to only 9 people, so you will have plenty of time for game viewing, photos, and personalized guiding during the safari. Since this is an early booking, we can indeed secure excellent mid-range hotels for you. After you place the booking, we will send you the full list of all the hotels we will use, including one of the best hotels in Diani Beach, for your relaxation after the safari. Regarding your beach extension, please let us know how many extra days you would like to stay in Diani. Diani Beach is a fantastic choice to unwind after safari – white sandy beaches, clear turquoise waters, and great options for snorkeling, boat trips, or simply relaxing by the ocean.

We would then need a half-board hotel on Diani Beach for 5 or 6 nights.

Is it better to arrive in Nairobi on December 22nd to start the safari on December 23rd?

    • Bonvoyage Kenya SafarisOperatorWritten May 2026

Yes, that is correct: you should plan to arrive in Nairobi on the 22nd so that you are ready to start the adventure on the 23rd. We will reserve your hotel in Nairobi for the night of the 22nd on a complimentary basis, so you can relax and be fresh for the start of your safari. Nairobi is a fantastic gateway to Kenya, with great views of the Ngong Hills on a clear day and a vibrant city atmosphere before you head out into the wilderness—it's a perfect place to begin your adventure.

Sometimes safari routes may change and we are concerned about this. Are park entry fees included in the safari price? What can we see in Tsavo National Park?

    • Bonvoyage Kenya SafarisOperatorWritten May 2026

It is true that sometimes, in very rare cases, safari routes may change. This is always done for safety and security reasons only – for example, if there are road blockages, protests, or any situation that could affect safe travel. Recently, there were route changes in Kenya for safari due to road closures linked to fuel protests. In such situations, we may adjust the route to make sure our travelers remain safe and can still enjoy their adventure as smoothly as possible. Park entry fees and visas are not included in the safari price unless clearly stated. These fees are government taxes, paid directly to the Kenya Wildlife Service or relevant authorities, not to the tour operator. Prices can change depending on the season. For example, Maasai Mara park fees are around USD 100 per person per day now, but from July to December they will increase to around USD 200 per person per day. In Tsavo National Park you can see large elephant herds, including the famous "red elephants" dusted with Tsavo's red soil, lions, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, hippo, crocodile, many antelope species and, with some luck, leopard and cheetah, and over 500 bird species. The landscapes include vast open plains and savannah, rocky outcrops and dramatic hills, lava flows and rugged volcanic scenery, Galana River with hippos and crocodiles, and Mzima Springs with crystal-clear pools where you can often see hippos and fish from an underwater viewing area.

I want to choose 22 till 31 May but I don't know which date I should book the flight is it same days ? 22 and 31 ?

    Flights / Transfers
    • Bonvoyage Kenya SafarisOperatorWritten May 2026

If your tour begins on the 22nd, we strongly recommend that you arrive in Nairobi at least one day earlier. This is to ensure you have enough time to rest, adjust, and be ready for the start of the tour, and it also allows you to make use of the free night in Nairobi included before the tour starts. On the last day, the tour ends on 31st May at approximately 4:00 pm. To allow enough time for the transfer and check-in at the airport, please choose a departure flight from Nairobi that leaves after 6:00 pm.
