  The tour company Choose Balkans was always responsive throughout the booking process and during the tour. Sirma was our main contact and she was delightful to deal with. Our tour guide, Eraldo, was fantastic. He was easy to get along with, informative, honest, and a man with a lot of integrity. We were always well looked after, and you know you will be in safe hands if he was your tour guide. The only downside was, we upgraded to 4-star hotels, but one hotel in capital city was 3-star at best and had moulds and was dirty, so Sirma moved us to a proper 4-star hotel for the next night. The final night stay at Mostar was a 3-star property - they did not even service our room properly and left the bathroom floor wet, shower drain full of hair, and bedroom carpet just generally dirty with the bottom of our indoor slippers going black. Also at Ohird, the hotel there was also only 3-star. At The Adler Hotel, Prizren, that was also 3-star, it was so poorly maintained that the hairdryer was hanging off the wall by the live wire over the sink, the floor skirting board was dislodged from the wall with nails exposed, they did not service our room and blamed us for not giving them permission to enter the room, but another fellow traveller got her room serviced, without permission given! I would recommend the tour and our excellent tour guide, Eraldo, but the hotel upgrade to 4-star by Choose Balkans need more improvements.

  I travelled solo on a 14 day Balkans tour from Athens to Dubrovnik. There were 3 other people on my tour as well. Whilst we had 2 hotels that weren't what I'd call 4 star, teh rest were generally great. The best thing about our tour was the guide. Eraldo was calm, thoughtful, and quietly attentive to everyone’s needs. Nothing ever felt rushed or scripted — he guided with a sense of integrity and genuine care that’s rare in most countries. He shared his country honestly and respectfully, and created an atmosphere where people felt comfortable, safe, and well looked after. I would travel with him again in a heartbeat.

  Ana was our tour guide and she was absolutely amazing. We had the best time exploring each city with her and she was always available to help with anything you might need. We highly recommend this tour for a very thorough tour of the Balkan area.

  The itinerary was okay except for the stretch in Montenegro. I’m not sure why. Perhaps the travel agency was trying to save a few bucks? The hotel arrangements were awkward. Instead of booking us a hotel in Kotor or , which would have saved us hours in traffic, they took us from Budva to Kotor and then back to Budva for the hotel. The next day we had to go from Budva to Kotor again on our way to Bosnia, and we got stuck in traffic for almost three hours.

  Our tour guide, Julian, was the highlight of our tour. He looked after us so well, drive so safely, and was so calm in the face of any challenge. The itinerary itself could be streamlined, as we had to repeat several parts of the trip. Better planning would prevent this. Some of the hotels were not great - hard beds, small rooms, tiny showers - but they were generally well located for walking around. We couldn't understand why our guide often had to stay far away from us in substandard accommodation.

  This tour was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The itinerary was well organized, the sights were breathtaking, and our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Whether you're traveling solo or with a group, this is a great way to explore and learn without the stress of planning everything yourself. Highly recommended!

  I cannot recommend Choose Balklands highly enough. From the moment we first contacted them, to the booking of the tour, to the tour itself, we felt we were always well looked after. All our questions and requests were answered and managed in a very timely fashion. The chosen accommodation was exactly what was expected, and well planned out for location. Communication throughout our tour from the head office to check how our tour was going and if we needed anything was fantastic. Our driver was always ensuring that we were comfortable, was flexible with if we wanted to do something different should it be possible, and was always ensuring that we were well looked after.

  Elton was a very knowledgeable and caring driver and tour guide. He endeavoured to allow all participants the best experience for them. The only negative remark is that there was a delay in repairing a tyre that was obviously faulty and we had a blow out on the road. A new car was organised quickly as there was an issue with another tyre.
