We booked this trip with Across Africa Tours and Travels at the last minute as the agency we had previously booked with had gone bankrupt. I was very anxious because we had lost a lot of money but the team at Across Africa Tours and Travels went above and beyond to ensure we had all the information we needed at all times. In particular, Megan was really nice and caring and always answered my questions quickly and in full. Our guide in Namibia, Shawn, was very nice and knowledgeable and also very caring. He wanted to make sure we had the best time and saw the best of Namibia. He even showed up at the hotel at the end of the tour to take us the airport as the person that was supposed to come couldn't make it. So we really appreciated him taking responsibility for ensuring we had transportation even after the tour had ended! The only thing that I wasn't crazy about (which is not a negative reflection on the trip, the guide or the agency) is that it may have been nicer to have additional stops as sometimes it feels like you spend a lot of time in the car driving from place to place.Show more

This is an excellent tour to give you a small slice of Namibia. As the country is so large this tour covers a lot of ground as best as one could possibly do in barely a weeks time. You experience the extreme of the desert at the dunes of Sossusvlei, the Atlantic coast at Swakopmund/Cape Cross and the famous wildlife of Etosha. If you are short on time I highly recommend this tour. While self drive is possible the distances are long and would have left me too exhausted to enjoy the destinations. Our five year old daughter also loved the entire trip, especially the camping!Show more

I was very pleased with this tour of Namibia. We chose the 8 day camping tour which covers a lot of ground in a short time. However, our guide was excellent and he managed the time and sights well. He also was experienced and knowledgeable about his country so the journey was interesting on every level. If it is possible to request Shawn Kashima to be your guide you will be fortunate if he is available. Namibia is a beautiful desert land worth experiencing. Climbing the dune at Sossusvlei was a highlight as was witnessing the mass of seals at Cape Cross. Etosha was fantastic as we were fortunate to see a pride of 12 lions in the morning. Our guide was in contact with rangers and other guides so he knew where it was best to go at the moment. Overall, this journey was very enjoyable for our family, which includes our 5-year old daughter who loved camping and developed a friendly rapport with the guide.Show more
