Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu
You'll land at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport where a Sherpa Expedition & Trekking representative meets you. Private vehicle takes you to your hotel and after you've settled in, there's a trek briefing to go over the itinerary and what to expect. The rest of the day is yours to wander around Thamel neighborhood or see what Kathmandu Valley has to offer. It's a good chance to get your bearings before the trek starts.

Landmarks Kathmandu Valley Thamel - Day 2
Kathmandu to Chame
You're on the road early, driving through terrain that crosses several rivers including the Trishuli River and Marsyangdi River. The route takes you through Besisahar before you reach Chame. Along the way you'll see the local landscape and start getting a feel for what the trek environment looks like. It's mostly traveling by vehicle today but an important transition to higher elevations.

Landmarks Trishuli River Marsyangdi River Besisahar Chame - Day 3
Chame to Pisang
Trekking starts from Chame and you walk through Telekhu village with views of the Annapurna Ranges and Mt. Pisang visible throughout. You'll cross a suspension bridge that spans the Marsyangdi River to reach the south side, then move upward through pine forest. The trail follows the upper Manang Valley before you arrive at Pisang for the night. It's about 3-4 hours of walking.

Pisang to Braga
The trek from Pisang takes you to Braga, a Tibetan village where houses are built stacked on top of each other in a really distinctive way. You'll visit Manang's Gompa, which is the largest one in the region and worth spending time in. Many trekkers stay around this area for a day or two to let their bodies adjust to the altitude before moving higher. The walk is moderate, maybe 2-3 hours.

- Day 5
Manang Acclimatization
You're staying at altitude today but staying active instead of just resting. A day trek takes you up to Mt. Khangsar and back down to Manang. From up there you get views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Tilicho, the Grand Barrier, Chulu West, and Chulu East all in one spot. It's about 5-6 hours of walking total and helps your body adjust while still moving around.

- Day 6
Manang to Yak Kharka or Ledar
Today you trek 10.4 km uphill through juniper forests and alpine pastures where yaks are grazing. You'll pass the only teahouse in the area at Thorong Khola where you can grab a drink or snack. Depending on weather and how the trail looks, you might stop for the night at Yak Kharka or push on further to Ledar. Either way it's a long day of climbing. About 4-5 hours minimum.

Landmarks Yak Kharka Thorong Khola Ledar - Day 7
Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi or High Camp
Climbing continues at higher altitude, and you'll follow the east bank of the Jarang Khola river. You'll see steep bluffs along the route before reaching Thorong Phedi. If conditions are good and you're feeling strong, there's an option to go one more hour to High Camp at 4800m/15,750ft. Keep an eye out for blue sheep, snow leopards, and bearded vultures. Local stories talk about griffons too. The altitude starts to feel real today.

Landmarks Jarang Khola Thorong Phedi High Camp - Day 8
Thorong La Pass to Jomsom
This is the toughest day of the whole trek, with 8-9 hours of hiking at high altitude. You'll cross Thorong La Pass where views of Annapurna, Gangapurna, and Khatungkang surround you. After the pass, you descend about 1600 meters to Muktinath, passing sheep, yaks, and merchants along the way. From there a shared jeep or bus takes you to Jomsom for the night. It's physically demanding but also the main event of the trek.

Jomsom to Pokhara
A local bus drives you to Pokhara on a 7-8 hour journey through Tatopani and Beni Bazaar. Once you arrive, you'll check into a lakeside hotel. Pokhara is a proper small city with all the amenities you need after trekking. Phew Tal lake is the big draw here. In the evening you might watch the sunset over the lake with the mountains in the background. It's a nice relaxing day after the mountain exertion.

Pokhara to Kathmandu
The drive back to Kathmandu takes 6-7 hours by local bus. As you travel, you'll probably find yourself thinking about everything you just experienced in Nepal. The unique culture, the village people you met, the geography and landscapes you trekked through. All of it stays with you in a way that's hard to describe until you're back and reflecting on the whole trip.

Landmarks Kathmandu - Day 11
Kathmandu Departure
On your last day in Nepal, Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will take you to the airport. You'll need to leave at least three hours before your scheduled departure time to handle check-in and security. Use the flight time to think about what you want to do on your next visit to Nepal, because most people who trek this route find themselves planning a return.
