Annapurna Circuit Tours & Trips

Best time to visit Annapurna Circuit

• Fall / Autumn 2026

Autumn brings perfect trekking weather, and our 12-15 day routes blend physical challenge with local culture. You'll spend extra time in Gurung villages learning traditional customs - some travelers even try making yak cheese. The October and November weather patterns work well for crossing Thorong La Pass, and our guides plan the climb so you hit the summit at sunrise for views over Mustang. What our clients really love is getting involved with local life - helping with the apple harvest in Marpha or joining festivals in Manang makes these fall trips feel genuine and personal. Looking at the top trekking companies for the Annapurna Circuit, Ace the Himalaya comes highly recommended by our travelers - including a 70-year-old client who had what they called their best travel experience. World Travel Experiences (WTX) has built a solid reputation among groups of friends who've taken their tours, noting the professional service and thoughtfully planned routes. For those going solo, Nepal Hiking Team makes the logistics simple - their guide Ramesh gets mentioned often in reviews for his deep knowledge of the region, culture and trail conditions. Alpine Ramble rounds out the top picks, with Dil and his team earning praise for their careful planning, practical support and attention to all the small details that matter when you're up in the mountains. Each of these operators knows the circuit inside out, handles permits efficiently and uses quality lodges along the route. Our travelers particularly value how they manage altitude acclimatization schedules, coordinate porters and keep group sizes manageable for a better hiking experience.

The winter Annapurna Circuit tours are all about proper cold-weather preparation. Our 12-day routes start with detailed gear sessions in Kathmandu before heading out. The teahouses we use have good heating systems - you'll appreciate that after crossing high suspension bridges in the winter chill. What makes these trips work so well is how the guides handle winter conditions. They know the exact timing for Thorong La Pass to avoid afternoon winds and have plenty of experience managing snowy sections on the upper trails. The extra acclimatization time in Manang lets you adjust safely to the altitude.

Spring really shows off what makes the Annapurna Circuit special, with our 14-21 day journeys giving you time to take it all in. The trails between Tal and Dharapani wind through rhododendron forests in full bloom, and the air is remarkably clear for mountain photos in March and April. You'll get great shots of Annapurna II, Gangapurna and also Tilicho Peak. We've carefully placed rest days along the route - partly for altitude adjustment but also to explore places like Braga monastery, where you can join the morning prayers with those snow peaks as your backdrop.

Summer treks on the Annapurna Circuit blend physical demands with smart planning around weather. Our best trips start early to beat the heat, with well-placed rest stops around Manang, where hikers get that vital extra time to adjust to altitude. Routes through Dharapani, Upper Pisang and also Muktinath work nicely in summer, giving you shade while showcasing mountain panoramas across the Kali Gandaki gorge. You can choose between 12-14 day circuits or longer 15-21 day journeys in the summer months - shorter trips hit the highlights like Pisang Peak and Gangapurna Lake, while extended stays let you soak up local life in villages like Marpha, with its traditional apple orchards and peaceful monasteries. Our guides adapt daily schedules to match conditions, setting out before dawn for big climbs and taking extended breaks when the sun peaks. Mountain biking has taken off here too, as cyclists find reliable trail conditions in summer, particularly on the smooth 95% rideable paths between Besisahar and Manang.
