If you arrive at that time in the morning there is no problem for the transfer, we will pick you up in the airport and take you to the tour hotel, however do note that check in time in the hotel will not be until 230 pm, so you will not have a room available until that time. You can if you wish add an extra night to the tour from the Sunday evening which would allow you to check in straight away the cost would depend on whether you want the four star hotel or the five star hotel option. We can add the hot air balloon ride to the booking that is no problem but it is best to pay that in destination as this activity is subject to change depending on the weather so we prefer to prebook to make sure there is space but collect the monies when we know that the excursion will go ahead. The cost per person including transfers and balloon ride is 125 USD (american dollars).

We were on Best of Egypt tour with a little personal touch, as we saw Garbage City and the Cave Church which was not in the standard itinerary. From the moment we arrived till we checked in on our way home, we were taken care of on the best possible way. Our tour coordinator, Michel, was very pleasant to be with, had a good sense of humor and very was competent. Every time we were moving from one place to another, he was there to help and guide us - very reassuring. Our guide in Cairo, Mina, was very well educated and knowledgeable - he told us about what we were seeing and then said, "this I am going to tell you about when we get to...", and he always remembered to do so - it is a very nice to be kept in suspense that way. Our guide in Luxor, Aswan and the Nile cruise was Gamal. He too is very well educated in all things Egyptian, and was also very good company. He could answer all of our questions, both on site and later on the ship where he sat with us, having coffee, answering lots of additional questions we had. The Nile Cruise on Esmeralda was very luxurious with great food and very nice and friendly staff. It was a perfect mix of seeing the monuments and relaxing/enjoying our time at the ship. We definitely had a feeling of being at a 1st class cruise. All in all we have been really satisfied with Planet Tours - everything has been working perfectly well, all pick ups have been on time, the guides were excellent as well as our tour coordinator. We have just returned from an Exoticca trip to Egypt (Nile Cruise plus Cairo), under the care of Planet Tours. The experience was wonderful from start to finish. All Planet Tours employees were friendly, competent and courteous, but there were so many of them that I didn’t catch all their names, to mention them here. Marco and Roberto looked after us in Cairo, entertaining us with interesting information as we drove to and from our hotels. Bigo escorted us in Luxor, particularly giving us the confidence to enjoy the hot air balloon ride. The staff on the boat were friendly, always smiling. Medhat was our main guide throughout the tour, and he was superb. He patiently looked after the varying needs of a 30+ group, always with a smile on his face. All the arrangements worked perfectly. Time spent at sites was perfectly balanced between Medhat’s interesting talks and free time to explore by ourselves. Throughout, Medhat’s pride, love and knowledge of his country’s history and culture was constantly evident. Other reviewers have disparagingly mentioned early starts, imperfections in the accommodation provided, and stops at tourist shops (papyrus, perfumed oils, alabaster). None of these took away from our enjoyment of the trip. The early starts were essential to fulfil the programme, and to avoid the worst of crowds and heat; tourist stops were a pleasant break, showing interesting local production processes, and also allowing for a drink and toilet break, with no pressure to buy; imperfections in accommodation were trivial. I recommend taking all the available extra options – extra excursions, camel ride, hot air balloon – everything was wonderful. We are both in our late 60s, not very fit, and yet we had no difficulty in managing everything. In short, the trip was fantastic value for money. It is not a restful holiday, but an opportunity to see a lot of Egypt in a very short time. Thank you to Medhat, Planet Tours and Exoticca for giving us this wonderful experience.Show more
