Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding
You'll start early with a private vehicle drive to the domestic airport, then catch a scenic 45-minute flight to Lukla where the trek officially begins. After a tea or coffee break, you'll head out on foot toward Phakding, trekking through mountain terrain before settling into a lodge for your first night at altitude.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
After breakfast at the lodge, you'll cross a long suspension bridge over the Dhudh Koshi River and pass through Monjo village to enter Sagarmatha National Park. Lunch comes in Jorsale, then you'll tackle steep walking for about half an hour before Mount Everest comes into view. From there, the trail climbs through alpine forest, eventually leading you to Namche Bazaar by day's end.

- Day 3
Namche Bazaar
This is your acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar, so you'll take it a bit easier. A steep 90-minute walk gets you to Syangboche for close-up views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. You'll grab lunch in Khumjung village and hike back down, then use the afternoon exploring Namche's shops, bakeries, banks, and internet facilities.

- Day 4
Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
The trek to Tengboche brings you close-up views of Thamserku and Ama Dablam. You'll descend to cross the Dudha Koshi River via suspension bridge, then spend about two and a half hours climbing through pine forest. Watch for Nepal's national bird, the pheasant, and keep an eye out for Himalayan Thar along the way.

Tengboche to Dingboche
From Tengboche, you'll head downward to Deboche through terrain where rare musk deer sometimes appear. An iron bridge crosses with views of Ama Dablam before you start a gradual ascent toward Pangboche. Lunch happens in Shomare, then you'll trek for approximately two hours more to reach Dingboche village.

- Day 6
Dingboche
You'll spend this rest day in Dingboche for acclimatization purposes. There's an optional full-day hike to Chukhung Village at 4730m/15,518 ft if you're interested and feeling up to it, which takes about 8 hours round trip. Chukhung offers views of Karyolung, Numbur, and Khagtega mountains, plus you can interact with yak herders and visit local tea houses.

Dingboche to Lobuche
The trek begins just above Dingboche with panoramic Khumbu Mountain views including Mount Makalu. You'll stop for tea at Dughla (4620m/15,157 ft), then ascend along pebbly and sandy trails. At Dughla Pass (4830m/15,846 ft), you'll see memorial monuments honoring Everest climbers. The trail continues gradually uphill to Lobuche (4910m/16,109 ft) where sunset views of Nuptse await. Expect about 5 hours of walking.

Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorak Shep
Early in the morning, you'll trek to Gorak Shep (5140m/16,864 ft) via a flat yak pasture trail in about 50 minutes, then cross glacial terrain where temperatures drop to -2 to 3°C/28-37°F. After a light lunch and rest, you'll continue to Everest Base Camp (5364m/17,598 ft) to see the Khumbu glacier and the foot of the world's highest mountain before heading back down. The whole day involves approximately 8 hours of walking.

- Day 9
Gorak Shep to Kalapatthar to Pheruche
You'll start before dawn to climb Kalapatthar (5545m/18,192 ft), which takes about two and a half hours and offers prime views of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks. Expect strong winds at the top. After descending back to Gorak Shep for breakfast, you'll head down to Pheruche (4230m/13,877 ft). This full day involves approximately 10 hours of walking total.

Pheruche to Namche Bazaar
A long descent starts from Pheruche, taking you through Pangboche and Tengboche with their monasteries and rhododendron bushes. Throughout the walk back, you'll have panoramic Himalayan views including Everest and Ama Dablam. By day's end, you'll reach Namche Bazaar, the busy Sherpa capital of the Khumbu region.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla

Lukla to Kathmandu
An early morning hike takes you down to the Lukla airstrip for your flight back to Kathmandu. The afternoon and evening are free, so you can rest or head to Thamel, Kathmandu's main tourist district, for last-minute souvenir shopping and exploring the bustling neighborhood.
