- Day 1
Kigali to Akagera National Park
Start with breakfast at your Kigali hotel, then drive out to Akagera National Park. The afternoon brings a boat ride along the Akagera River where you'll look for hippos, crocodiles, and other wildlife that spend time in the water. Head back to your lodge for dinner.

Akagera National Park
Spend the full day on a game drive through Akagera's savannah grassland. You'll keep an eye out for lions, leopards, elephants, antelopes, and whatever other animals show up during your time driving through the park.

Landmarks Akagera National Park - Day 3
Akagera National Park to Bwindi
After breakfast around 10am, you'll leave Akagera National Park and head back to Kigali. From there, you transfer to Bwindi for the next part of your trip.

- Day 4
Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
Get an early breakfast before heading out for gorilla trekking in the rainforest. A ranger will brief you on what to expect, then you'll trek into the forest (this can go 6 hours or longer) to see mountain gorillas as they feed, play, and interact. Return to your lodge for dinner.

- Day 5
Bwindi Batwa/Pygmy Tribe Tour
After breakfast at 7:30am, you'll take a roughly 5-hour walking tour with the Batwa or Pygmy tribe, the original forest inhabitants. Your guide shares their culture, traditions, and how they've historically connected to the rainforest, including the Garama Cave where they sheltered during conflicts.
