- Day 1
Kigali to Akagera National Park
Your driver picks you up after breakfast at the hotel for the roughly 2-hour drive to Akagera National Park. You'll stop along the way to take photos of the landscape. Once you arrive, there's time to check into your accommodation and take a short game drive before lunch. Later in the afternoon, head out on the water for a boat trip on Lake Ihema where you can look for hippos and crocodiles.

Akagera National Park
Get an early breakfast, then spend the full day in an open-roofed vehicle doing game drives. You'll have chances to see elephants, buffalo, hippos, lions, Masai giraffes, gazelles, impalas, baboons, and leopards depending on what's around. After lunch at the lodge, head back out for an evening game drive before returning for dinner.

Landmarks Akagera National Park - Day 3
Akagera National Park to Bwindi National Park
After breakfast, you'll transfer from Akagera to Bwindi National Park. The drive takes you through Rwanda's capital city of Kigali before heading on toward your next destination. The route covers quite a bit of ground, so plan for a long day of travel.

Landmarks Bwindi National Park 
- Day 4
Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Breakfast starts at 6:30 am, then you head out for mountain gorilla trekking. The trek itself takes between 2 to 7 hours and it's physically challenging, so bring a rain jacket, jungle boots, plenty of water, snacks, and packed lunches. You'll trek through misty forests to find these rare creatures in their natural setting.

Landmarks Bwindi National Park 
- Day 5
Genocide Memorial Center
After breakfast, you'll drive back toward Kigali. Along the way, you can visit the Genocide Memorial Center, a solemn and important historical site that honors those lost during the 1994 genocide. From there, you're transferred to the airport for your flight out.
